Cultural capitalism however does exist. It's consumer culture but more than that, it's the result of generations of psychological assault by marketing and advertising. We're trained since birth to respond to advertisements, every psychological weakness exploited. Cultural capitalism causes a deep psychological dependence on the socioeconomic system of capitalism, and indeed it is practically worshiped by rightists. When capitalism fails, rightists can't blame capitalism's failures, they must find scapegoats, which conservative politicians and career pundits are happy to supply, offering to marginalize or destroy the evil bad in exchange for power. Capitalism's failures are increasing rapidly (Do I really need to specify how?) and so the need for scapegoats is increasing. At the same time outside of rightist hugboxes society is becoming increasingly liberalized, and rightists are pissed that they are losing the cultural war. Hence the rise of the alt-right and Trump. This is also the last gasp of rightism, it is destined to die now that the internet is causing exponential cultural change.

What has to be remembered is that these are young adults who are in all likelihood just getting out from under mommy and daddy's supervision and learning that the world is bigger than what they've been taught.

So when they find out that there was a political system other than the one that they were born into they will go one of three ways. They will either embrace that system because it's new and fresh and exciting ,something they've never experienced before or they will rally against it at all costs. Or they wont give a fuck
