Honestly I don't understand how to buy obscure cryptos like this. I wanted to buy Eth in 2015 but ran into the same problem.

I've read guides on it and I just end up even more confused. Basically the only part I understand is that I have to convert USD to BTC or ETH first.

It's probably a sign though, if I am this bad at it, cryptos might not be for me.

Get a coinbase acct and a bittrex acct, its self explanatory for there unless youre retarded

1. Get an account on Coinbase, buy BTC or ETH from there
2. Download the Exodus hardware wallet
3. Copy the address from your Exodus wallet and paste it into the send box on your Coinbase account, transferring your stash to Exodus
4. Exchange BTC for GNT in Exodus wallet
That's all, it's really simple.

golem is probably a good long-term investment but it'll be a while before you'll see a solid roi. the tech just isn't there yet.

What sets golem apart from the billion other cryptos out there right now?

unlike many others there is a huge development taking place any moment now - golem brass, and maybe even an addition on coinbase. I think in terms of what it actually does it is more useful and easier to market to normies than most of the other cryptos, including even eth and btc. basically what the golem project wants to do is have a decentralized, distributed supercomputer to process things for users. instead of a user having to use all of the processing power on their own computer, many different computers will give up their processing power in order to earn GNT, which will start off by processing CGI animations and programs of the sort, expanding beyond that further down the road.
