Instead of becoming the leader of the NSDAP, Adolf Hitler finishes secondary school, becomes an architect, and is mildly successful, designing various buildings in Italy and Germany.

Who stirs up shit in his place?

>Adolf Hitler finishes secondary school, becomes an architect, and is mildly successful, designing various buildings in Italy and Germany.
Was never gonna happen. He was incapable of applying himself in secondary school and was a failing student most of the time. He also never had the drive to become a good architect or artist. He deluded himself into believing he was the best artist ever.

>Who stirs up shit in his place?
Ludendorff

Don't you mean Hindenburg? I thought Ludendorff when mad after WW1?

hindenburg is dead by summer 1934 of lung cancer at the age of 86

What?

He never even wanted to a be an architect or ever tried to be one. The only mention of being an architect from his biographies and Mein Kampf was that when he was refused entry to art school they suggested he tried architecture, which was probably just a fob off.

Not being able to grasp perspective becomes even more of a problem when you are trying to design buildings rather than painting pictures.

If it's really that important what the fuck happens to him then pretend he jumped into the ocean and became a dolphin. That isn't the point of the question.

Italy would annex france, britain, germany and russia. The US would would then fall to Italy's forces but poland which held out manages to do a counteroffensive and saves europe. Poland then double teams with Mexico to help liberate americans from the italian empire.

Okay, that's not an unreasonable point. My focusing on this issue is probably a hangover from a couple of days ago when some dude was going on about Hitler being a potential architect just because that's what the art school guys fobbed him off with.

In fairness you could have just said got shot in WW1, that would have been realistic instead of plucking out the architect thing or coming up with a fantasy scenario.

Surely a man becoming a dolphin like that would have greater implications on world history.

Obviously this thread isn't about what realistic alternate lives Hitler could have led. It's about what would happen if Hitler wasn't in the picture to cause the stir that he did.

>perspective

Yeah, because perspective turned out to be so important in modern architecture.

Stalin

Or lead a land war across continental europe and asia.
badum tish
Over 80% of OP's post is allocated to talking about alternative Hitler lives. He should have made an attempt to lay out the groundwork of a criticism of the "Great man theory" if they wanted to direct the discussion towards a claim that Hitler's life made no difference.

How would you design something like that if you couldn't understand depth and perspective? That's not praising that particular piece of architecture particularly btw.

Probably the way that guy did, drawing a bunch of incongruent lines and make as many as you can intersect.

Unless you had an actual clue what you were doing the building would be unbuildable by the method. That's not to say that lump of shit looks aesthetically pleasing,it looks shit, it's to say they wouldn't have even been able to design it the way you are saying.

Oops.

Most of Europe was under one dictatorship or another by 1939, a continental war would have been very possible.

I wonder if Mussolini and Franco had designs on France.

Some other weirdo NSDAP was not the only facist and anti semitic group in Germany. And poeple where also still pissed about ww1

Most likely the german commies would have taken over.

What if Hitler just died in WWI?

Most underrated comment in this thread.

**red alert intensifies**

Why did he always go for a woman 20 years younger than himself? Why did he never want a woman his age or older?

Personally I always thought no matter what the Jews would of gotten the short end of the stick. Antisemitism was always rampant in europe. And a depraved german populace was bound to look for a boogie man to blame all of their economical problems on, hell the german depression that followed WW1 might of been worse off and for longer if hitler hadn't come into the picture to completely reform the economy with his bold leadership.

is this you

>Antisemitism was always rampant in europe. And a depraved german populace was bound to look for a boogie man to blame all of their economical problems on,

I guess the german civil war in 1919 and the attempted communist takeover was just lead by no one in particular

Ludendorff only went mad after Hitler outmaneuvered him to takeover leadership of the radical right (Ludendorff, btw, was WITH Hitler at the shootout during the Bierhall Putsch). After that he went even more tinfoil tier than Hitler and spent the rest of his life writing mystical racist tracts.
But yeah Hindenburg might be the better option, though it must be said that Hindenburg, having always stolen the credit from Ludendorff's victories despite having been a mediocrity himself, might have been finally bested by Ludendorrf in the postwar era.

You're right. Had OP made it more clear that Hitler was somehow entirely out of the picture (becoming a dolphin or carnival barker) then I wouldn't have objected. When mentioning him becoming an architect, or even a successful one at that, I felt the need to point out for other anons that everything indicated to the contrary that he could have ever been an accomplished architect or artist for that matter.

>than Hitler*
Actually, to say Hitler was tinfoil is inaccurate on second thought, because his beliefs never stopped him from his ability to take and execute power. Maybe I should say that he went more tinfoil than Rosenberg.

>what is east germany :^)

I really think not. Anti-semitism had already been pretty rife since the late nineteenth century, with even several thousands being killed in Russian pogroms. But even with the rising antisemitism of the 1930s in many European countries, mostly the Eastern and Central European ones, no policy was nearly as thorough and radical as the Nazi's policies, and this is even before we get into the Holocaust. Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria... all were passing anti-jewish policies but unlike the Nazis, they didn't go so far as to totally extirpate the presence of Jews in economic and cultural life as the Nazis did. A lot of laws passed were also not enforced as vigorously as the Nazis. And Germany having one of the most sophisticated and effective bureaucracies in the Modern World, they we're many time more capable of putting anti-semitic and other racial policies into action.

For a history forum all of you dumb fucks have the most simplistic idea of the movement of history, namely "the great man" theory.

Nazism was going to rise up in Germany no matter what, it didn't even need Hitler.

Here are just SOME parties and organizations that were absorbed that existed in the interwar years, or supported by the Nazis after 1933.

A social democratic government with some Jews in its top positions (namely Walter Reichenau), used rightwing militias to destroy communists in Berlin (which was led by Karl Liecknecht, a Christian, and a Jewess) and those same militias on their own initiative crushed a socialist (not a Communist dummy) revolt in Bavaria led by "jews" (but thoroughly german in culture) alongside labor unions and other leftist organizations, unleashing a White terror out of proportion to any alleged crimes carried out by the Bavarians (which was close to none)..

really activates my almonds.
