Sociologically speaking...

Sociologically speaking, who is more worthy of scorn the upper middle class college kid from the nice part of town whose parents clear $1 million a year railing against capitalism or the dude living in a double wide making $11/hr voting Republican so the rich can get a tax cut?

The second one because he's a deluded plebian voting against his own interest who was dumb enough to get brainwashed.

The armchair socialist. Because he's a hypocrite. I can understand a poor person wanting socialism, and i can understand a poor person who has some knowledge of economics voting for a decrease in taxes for the rich because it leads to more economic opportunity for him, and thus more social mobility.
I don't understand rich people who're into socialism. JUST DONATE THE SPARE MONEY TO CHARITY.

The champagne socialist because he would get shot and raped with a bayonet (and deservedly so) in the event of a socialist revolution regardless of whether he was "progressive" or not.

The first one because he's a deluded cuck working against his own interest who was dumb enough to get brainwashed.

>dude living in a double wide making $11/hr
Holy shit, that's me.

To answer your question, I think the rich kid is worse. The poor person voting republican probably hasn't had the chance to know what political bases actually represent their interests...whereas the rich kid is probably just a massive hypocrite that lives off of mommy and daddy's money, but doesn't see how capitalism has helped their parents get very well to do...but then again, a rich kid living off of mom and dad's money is a good micro example of the socialism they want to see for everybody.

It's kind of a wash, but I'm leaning towards the rich kid that got brainwashed in college.

One could argue his shitty education lead to him being easy to manipulate by corporate masters and Republican propaganda, because republicans tend to be better at reaching poor folks (at least the white ones), as opposed to socialists that seem really pretentious and often alienate the working people by being as self righteous as they tend to be.

>JUST DONATE THE SPARE MONEY TO CHARITY.
That's how sympathetic rich people used to do it. Was very common back in the day for rich people who didn't need to work to volunteer or at least donate lots of their money to the poor.

>because he would get shot and raped with a bayonet (and deservedly so) in the event of a socialist revolution regardless of whether he was "progressive" or not.
Yes, probably. No one has ever cared when someone tries to claim "no, I'm one of the good ones!", when they look identical to their enemy.

I wouldn't say they deserve it though.

>tfw pay lip service to Marx and global revolution if only because all the left wing airheaded harpies on campus are so easy to fuck
>don't actually believe any of it but apparently understand it better than 95% of them
try and stop me

>tfw used to fuck an extreme leftist in college
>mfw my views were the exact fucking opposite of hers

Every time we fucked, I felt like I was defeating her shitty ideals.

Do it for us user. Colonize safe spaces.

Seconded.

The republican is probably worse between the two, unless the hippie kid has particularly rich parents or he works under a job protected by republicans. The republican is voting against his own economic interests by refusing government programs that make him ultimately pay less in healthcare, insurance, school.

The rich hippie meanwhile is more of a problem on the national scale if they have very rich parents with real power, as it adds to the unbelievably divided and radicalized social positions between the two parties and the parties refusal to accept social independents, conservative democrats and liberal republicans, that created the first guy. Ofcourse, it does give the government the power to heavily tax the rich in order, at best, lower taxes for the poor and middle class.

>was dumb enough to get brainwashed
>he was very likely never told that he is actually allowed to think for himself and not believe everything he's told
you're the delusional one

lols, i have had a similar fling

>tfw in a super liberal area
>tfw I have no patience to bullshit these leftist retard girls into bed

The downside of having too much of a combative personality

I'm not rich, but i often donate money, tho of course not much, but every bit helps.

Where do you live? Minneapolis here.

That's good. I donate about 20 dollars a month, but that's to Patreon for youtubers I believe in...not really an important donation.

>has some knowledge of economics voting for a decrease in taxes for the rich because it leads to more economic opportunity for him

Tell me friend, what knowledge of economics do you have?

Obviously this fictitious guy also has the wrong idea on politics and the economy.

On a real note: what are some of you guys' ideas on why the working poor tend to be so right wing?

>If you benefit from a system, you are a complete hypocrite for criticizing it in any way.
Where does this assumption come from? You might as well start saying "You have an iPhone, therefore you can't criticize capitalism in any way. Checkmate." Nobody makes a conscious decision to live under capitalism; we just have to live in the world we're born into.

smells like ideology

>scorn the upper middle class college kid from the nice part of town whose parents clear $1 million a year railing against capitalism
You still pay for school in your country?

Oh ha ha ha.

You're missing the part where tax cuts for the rich lead to tax increases for everyone elsewhere.

$1,000,000 a year doing what? You can earn that much in a year, it wouldn't necessarily come from rents.

Because they're socially conservative and there are only two choices anyone's willing to vote on.

Having just two actual parties is such shit.

It's absolute shit.

>JUST DONATE THE SPARE MONEY TO CHARITY.

I mean, a lot of them do donate obscenely high amounts both in dollars and in percentage of income. I think instead they seek a society that doesn't have need for their babysitting.
