The same can be said for basically every monarcuckery nation in Europe. The Kingdom of Greece was ruled by a Bavarian until the junta deposed him. And I'm pretty sure every royal family is Europe has a little bit of Hohenzollern or Hapsburg in them, those krauts splattered their seed all over the world.

We're not ruled by the monarch, the monarch is basically a totem that we ascribe all power to, in order to prevent the PM from having total power, anytime the PM want's to do something shady we can say it's a prerogative power, thereby casting light on the shady thing the PM is trying to do, because the queen probably does reserve that power, and a vote is going to be called in the commons.
We're effectively ruled by the government created by the queen, not the queen herself, this is an important distinction.
