Eric Hoeffer commented in The True Believe leaders of mass movements are usually people of creative fields with little creative power. The prime example was Hitler.
Why is that so?

People of creative fields are the ones with free time to be the leader of ideology.

and they socialise enough with people belonging to various socio-economic groups. Also you have to be creative to come up with a new movement and self promotion is a good skill to have.

What creative field was Hitler part of?

What creative fields were Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky and Mao at?

The creatives aren't bound by mundane things like right or wrong. They aren't ideologues.

The creatives have only one single goal and that is to have their creations experienced in the manner they want them experienced.

This is why creative's get buttroasted over plagiarism. It's an assault on their intentions. Which, again, are not to push their own beliefs or agendas but to be experienced in the way they want them experienced.

A creator is one who ultimately hates reality so very much that they don't experience reality as average people do. They suffer in reality, it gnaws at them. They retreat to their own realms and creations. And they begin laying these new realities other other people to walk into.

The Apache have a legend about the world. The Apache say that the world is held up by a great big pole and that Great Father Beaver keeps gnawing at that pole. And the more the people on the world disappoint, frustrate and anger Father Beaver the more furiously he gnaws at that pole. Until one day the pole is gnawed all the way through and the whole world comes crashing down in catastrophe.

Sometimes, when I first wake up for my dawn time morning coffee and cigarette I can hear it.

I can hear the gnawing.

I think I get what (You) and OP are trying to say. Creators are the ultimate destroyers?

But you completely missed the point, being that they're FAILED people who TRY to be creative but fail.

Oh no.

That's only half of it. Creatives also create everything there is. All the wonder, all the benefit of living in modern society.

And let's really be honest, objectively modern times are the very best times for humanity we have ever had.

But creators are the nonconformists. They are the contrarians and the rebels.

Because no matter how ideal the reality becomes they will always retreat to their private worlds of imagination. And they will always leave traps for the mundane to walk into and experience.

What is the most basic symbol of urban creativeness? Graffiti. Just illegally writing on the wall because fuck you I want to create something that you will have to experience. Hahaha.

But if you took that graffiti and plagiarized it and copied it and changed it and spread it the creative behind the original work would die as many deaths.

This is why so many creatives live on the edge of the edgy and push so very hard at the limits of society. They must.

Their reality is so far removed from actual reality that it demands conflict.

Lenin was a lawyer, Stalin was a poet.

Obviously!

They're the autists not in on the whole joke. They take a good idea and run waaaaaay too far with it.

As if it was a message from God. They are consumed with it because they also gate reality and wish for a drastic change.

And when they find one that fits they become fanatical.

There is no one as fanatical as the convert.

Marx was a writer and philosopher. Lenin and Trotsky also wrote extensively.

Marx wad also a German nationalist and extreme Germophile at one point.

He believed that the Germans were the height of European civic society.

He even joined a German Nationalist group who booted him for not being really German. Idiots kicking out supporters in a purity spiral.

And what a crop they did sow.

And what a harvest they did reap.

>A creator is one who ultimately hates reality so very much that they don't experience reality as average people do.
That has to do with imagination, not with creativity. Normal people accept reality as the only possible way things could be.

>Creators are the ultimate destroyers?
Destroyers are people who are low on the hierarchy, nobodies. That's why the NSADP was mostly made of losers who need to take down others' personal achievements.

Your theory doesn't involve creative people.

>objectively modern times are the very best times for humanity we have ever had.
That's true in absolute terms, but people only have one way to measure themselves - compared to their peers. In the modern western world where people are doing well but will never live up to the ideals they see in the media they'll never be able to be truly happy.

Take that to the /phil/ board.

>Normal people accept reality as the only possible way things could be.

Yes and creatives often throw the world into a talespin

>people only have one way to measure themselves - compared to their peers.

Almost there. Normal people only have one way to measure themselves. Through the lens of their peers. To be witnessed is the only true way to be alive for so many. Thus we can only truly be experienced through the eye of the other.

This is why we both seek and fear the other.

>Take that to the /phil/ board

I'm sorry but that's all documented fact and a very real part of history. Marx really was a waylaid German nationalist.

This is the ultimate danger of exclusion. Exclusion breeds conflict which breeds creative ways to destroy you.

Stalin sang and was an autodidact mate. When he wasn't making Khrushchev dance the gopek while impressively drunk he was either reading or singing in what little free time he had.

Architecture, at least that's what I got from Albert Speer's book. Hitler had plans to rebuild Berlin after the war to rival Paris, London and Rome. Here's Speer's model

I don't like it.

Marx, Lenin and Trotsky were writers. Mao and Stalin were poets. Stalin was also a singer and had absolute pitch.

Did they use that in The Man in the High Castle?

Yes, the Berlin in that is modeled after what Hitler wanted it to he when he won. The rockets and jets are too.
