From the looks of it they are currently trading on the decentralized market on Waves Lite Client you have to put in WhaleCoin in the search. Sometimes it shows up in the transactions history and other times it shows up empty.

I doubt it man. Besides a 1,000,000 market cap is tiny. For all the whalecoin owners. I suggest you just HODL. The best way for WhaleCoin to function is if it was worth a lot.

That was the plan if you noticed it's mentioned at the beginning that it's mostly just a place holder until we can get everything in place. As good as waves is having our own coin will allow us to develop more features.
Currently one of the concerns of the coin at the moment is that some WhaleCoins on waves is that they are being sent to invalid addresses which cause the coins to become beached. We want to resolve this when transitioning as this loss will greatly impact the future of WhaleCoin.

I see I missed "place holder". I have a short reading attention span.
Now, unless you have enough money yourself to make something out of it. (Which is possible but no clue, we are on Veeky Forums after all)
You could make the amount that got wasted into a pool of currency to pay of development costs with. It would probably be ideal to have a certain time frame where people can make the transition.
Then you could convert the NON converted amount into premine and airdrop or use it for development costs.
As for the use-case it's hard to say. You already have a voting idea in place but voting for what? I also hope you will get a cute token image :3
