First you need to configure magacoin.conf

1. Create a text file called %APPDATA%\Magacoin\magacoin.conf

2. Relaunch magacoin-qt to load the changes.

Then you open mine.

1. Open cmd prompt.

2. cd to your magaminer directory.

3. type out: minerd.exe -o 127.0.0.1:5332 -u user -p password123 --coinbase-addr=ADDRESS

Set your address and your good.

Much easier to create a .bat file with that exact text in the folder you're navigating to, and double click it to start the miner.

My GPU is an ancient shit, so I'm afraid mining would be pointless.

I was having a pretty similar problem, but it didn't have that line. 5333 was listening but no 5332, which I fixed by restarting the wallet.

Wish I had seen this thread earlier. Wasted an hour setting up my miner, just got my first 250 coins, my avg is 55khs.

I think it may have been that I needed to restart the wallet for the updated config details or something? Anyway it worked after restarting the Wallet (though I'd tried that earlier and didn't change anything the first time).

Yes, I'm using an i5, all cores at 100% but it doesn't bog down the computer like mining eth with my 1070 does. videos work fine and I've been playing papers please, no lag or slowdown at all.

So I edited the command to drop the -P back out of it, and now I'm getting this. Is this successfully mining? I don't want to wait an hour and a half to find out.

What the fuck, is it over clocked? I'm using a 7600k that I haven't turned up yet, probably around 50-55c temp while running.

had 2 issues, at first my appdata folder was simply invisible as I visited there before I had to do some fiddling, i'm guessing something to do with me having a windows.old folder from when I did a clean install
secondly when I saved magacoin.conf it still saved it as a text file instead of .conf so I just did it again and it worked.
