DRYS is a great stock for someone like you

new tech sector ETF is now tradeable on robinhood. ~$20 a share. great long, and a great short for playing earnings the next couple weeks. picked up 20 shares on friday. only bad holding IMO is SNAP @ 2%. .85% fee as well, but its actively managed so risk is presumably mitigated and will probably go down as it becomes more popular.

I got in Friday at 1.25.

It's so close to its ATH, but even after that small dip on Thursday it had a recovery on Friday. Just seems to me like people have major fomo with this thing and are going to pump the shit out of it till ER.

Um that's exactly why you shouldn't. The profits from those cards are already baked into the stock price, most likely under the assumption that coin mining would be more popular than it will be if the coin mining industry crashes.

People have already bought the cards though, and they're still on most sites like newegg half the cards are sold out / one per customer still.

I don't think cryptos are a huge impact in them selling cards, I also don't think they're really dying out. I think Nvidia also has a lot more going for it future wise with all the self driving car deals they have going on.

are you implying the coin mining industry is crashing any time soon?
if so, i have to disagree. once these specialized cards come out they are going to be 40%+ better than their standard counterpart, and likely cheaper.

Prices fucking skyrocketed solely due to crypto. I've been watching GPU prices for ages, this is going to crash and burn if crypto doesn't recover.

mining is only "dying" because of the absurd scarcity in gpus. this combined with the fact that standard gpus are incredibly inefficient in terms of electrical usage and hashing power relative to these new cards.
go ahead and try to buy a 480, its incredibly difficult and its sold above release value. people still want cards, and these new releases are going to get eaten up faster than you know it.

Nvidia has a ton of other things going on besides just crypto selling cards though. It's anecdotal but the company I work for just bought a shit ton of Nvidia's Tesla line of gpus for their server farm, and those things are like 2k each. A lot of companies are using their tesla/quadro cards and they're like twice as expensive as their consumer brand cards and companies buy a shit ton of them at once.
Then there's the whole car deals they have going on that is fueling increase this too.
