Good opinion here

Literal pleb detected.

Senators as in members of Senate or senators as in members of the senatorial class?

Wait, was he even a senator?

>Asks Veeky Forums who their favourite senator was, in the time of the republic
>Says his favourite is the senator who literally destroyed the republic
>MRW

We'll have a secessio again bitch, try us.

There is literally no difference.

You immediately enter the senate once elected tribune of the plebs.

wrong. he was tribune of the pleb, but still patrician

Sertorius is the patrician's choice

Historical illiterate detected.

>popularis
>patrician choice
What the fuck am I reading

No, only plebs could've been elected to the tribunate, this is why Clodius had had to be adopted into a plebeian family to be elected in 59BC.

my favourite is cicero too, but i already had the caesar bust saved and couldnt be bothered to download another

Caesar

actually liked Caesar before he went a conquerin'

Camillus

>what should we choose the well fortified, wealthier, and vacant area or the devastated ruins of Rome
>Rome because Rome is worth it!

pretty much what the Golden age had that later periods of Rome didn't

Catiline is my favorite. Ciceros meme conspiracy ruined everything.

other than the Cicero meme what other things is he known for?

Clodius isn't a senator

great Roman though

Cato the Younger because fuck you "Carthago delenda est."

Catiline was literally another Caesar in the making. Popularis, capable, huge debts. And he went out like a hero in his last stand.

>Be Catiline
>lose against literal who nigger from Picenum.
>The old aristocracy turns against you because Crassus and Pompey were doing shit.
>At least I have Hybrida as Consul, he will help me getting the job next year.
>Fuck, Hybridia jumped ship.
>Lose another election.
>Okay, fuck it, let's do a Sulla and kill all my enemies.
>One of my retard allies tries to bribe celts and now Cicero knows everything.
>Fucking Cato convinces everyone in the Sentae to kill my co- conspirators.
>Caesar does nothing, he just fucks my wife.
>Die in an army of unarmed niggers, butchered by Rome's finest.
>T-thanks Hybrida.

Octavian because fuck the republic.

Ehhh, Catilina was apparently more of a villain, at least towards other Romans. Benefited enormously from the proscriptions, and killed his own (ex?) brother-in-law for more dough.

Still better than the literally who fuck from Picenum who started calling himself savior of the fucking country.

How about you stop driving the farms of the people who fought for you out of business, you fucking proto-yuppie

Trajan here, just wanted to say fuck you all.

Hadrian here, please stop

Unrelated question, but why does English remove -us ending from Roman names?

Because Roman names declined like other nouns in latin. Most names that end in -us are second declension, which, depending on their use in a sentence, could look like any of the following forms:

Traianus
Traiani
Traiano
Traianum
Traianō

The only common "root" is Traian, or, Trajan, and that's how we refer to him.

>mrw
get out

he was in the senate

Cool, didn't know that. It's just weird because in my language the Roman name (Like Trajan) is accompanied with the -us present.
