Should I just leave? Or will they likely fire me?

You typically get 2 years at staff level unless you just totally fucking suck
When they start promoting your class they will make some cuts
Talk to your mentor, if you have one, and try to remain employed at LEAST 2 years otherwise you may as well leave it off your resume

Why are these so hyped, working for them seems like misery, especially with the Big 3.

my brother was a manager for big 4

start looking for another job, they will have pretty much determined you are probably dead weight at this point

better to leave and just say the hours weren't for you than to get canned they will still probably give you reference

what does this have to do with pump n dump shitcoins

I agree with your post, but I want to stay on as long as I possibly can for the good pay and like says the way it looks on my resume.

Advisory has good pay and hours can be reasonable. It's just a lot more competitive and I'm probably not even smart enough for this type of work tbqh.

Which of these is best for IT, I like having my binge drinking expensed

t. Recruiting this fall

Welcome to pre-ETH explosion Veeky Forums

>working for them seems like misery

95% of all people working there do it for their resume, nothing else.
Working for them is overvalued, it is not different from working for smaller companies.

Source: was there for one year.
Never again, they demanded a workload which breaks most people without a payment that would justify it.

understandable

just start getting something lined up by year 2 evals you got some time to find good alts

I think they're all good for IT, just depends on the quality of clients the firm has in your area. I personally believe Accenture/Deloitte seem like the highest tier for IT simply because they win so many of the contracts.

Noted, this will probably be what I end up doing. If I get the Senior promotion I would be super surprised (I'd even be surprised if they keep me on for the year, but fingers crossed)

Was there for 2 years.

Pay was shit (though i was specialist so i got paid more). Only reason to be there is if you are a retard (

best of luck hope it works out

>I'm probably not even smart enough for this type of work tbqh.

Get a good suit and pretend to know more than the average joe. Most people there sound smart and look good & educated.

I got a degree in finance and another one in software development - I cannot count the amount of incompetent people from "top universities". Makes me think that many of the "good" graduates they employ seem to get their degree for sleeping during the lectures.

>Accenture

I agree with you, from what I've heard. I'll position it at the top of my list. Thanks user

Fuck big companies. Work for a start-up

Accenture guy here, ask me anything

Yeah Silicon Valley's a great show

>Pay is good only after senior manager.

After which your soul has faded away and you lost all and every will to live.
I found one! higher up who was not divorced and/or alienated from his children. It is simply not worth it.

Yes, my time there was a pure nightmare. Not because of the work itself but for the pure incompetence of the pretentious guys, who were swinging their dicks around just because they were working for the "big guys".

Today I earn almost 50% more while working about 30% less (around 40-50h per week now). Same field of work, smaller company, less emphasis on grades & more on actual competences and skills. I wish I would have never gave in to the temptation to work with "the big guys".

I also dont want to rule out the fact that I might just had bad luck with the people I worked with. It was just that there were so many people at the wrong positions that I have a hard time believing it is not this way in the majority of the company.

Incompetent people is the norm at the big 4s. The higher you go, the more stupid they become (see my

but why? why does it seem like these places attract a lot of stupid people?

Just going to add my $0.02 that around 50% of my close friends from uni went to work at big 4, they all think they're ballers but live in tiny shared flats and work 60hrs a week. They really bought into the whole cult-like bullshit of "working less than 60 hrs per week is for pussies" and "I'll be rich once I get that next promotion"

Big 4 is for cucks. It's hugely competitive and for no discernible reason. Everyone wants to work there so they have a huge supply of people willing to do your shitty job if you aren't prepared to take shit from everyone above you. Huge supply of employees with static/falling demand for services = low pay.

From my experience

Resourceful, smart, competent and honest "profiles" leave within 2 years

Ignorant, dependant on policies and procedures, brainwashed with the companies own product "profiles" stick around and actually do well in the company because the ignorance shows in their social skills and willingness to sell crap.

So it could be like what said and only stupid people really care about "status" for working in a big company. Same is occuring for me, when I graduated all of the smart people I know are working in normal companies however there is some super idiots who struggle at basic analytical skills yet they still made it to the big 4. It is like a worldwide trend.

My guess is that it is due to the large emphasis on grades and degrees from prestigious universities. I am okay with screening incoming applications by grades (needed because of the sheer amount of applications they get), but from what I saw it reached strange levels.
