Does Islam teach its followers to be violent or is it relatively peaceful?
Which group follows Islam most purely?

Quranists

>Which group follows Islam most purely?

ISIS

Islam is the only religion with an open context commandment to seek out, kill, and enslave non-believers.

>Islam teaches Muhammad is the ideal man
>Islam teaches to be more like Muhammad.
>Muhammad spread Islam through violence
>Muslims and liberals still claim Islam does not teach violence
How dense can people be

>inb4 the bbc loving communists start getting triggered again.

idk their prophet wuz a warlord but that's racist information

Islam is still such a young religion though in comparison to all the other Abrahamic faiths

The Catholic Church had a hyper-aggressive brutal phase too, they just had a head start

Perhaps Islam will chill the fuck out in time like the other religions have

Correction: pagans.
And let us not kid ourselves into thinking pagans do not have it coming.

Are you nine or eleven?

great post

the question was whether the religion teaches its followers to be violent, not whether the followers have been violent

what type of islam are we talking about here?

orthodox hanefi sects which most turks follow?
extremist salafi/wahhabi sects which bedoins follow?
shia sects like iranians follow?
or minority sects like sufi, bektashi, alevi etc which people in the balkans, turkey and caucasus follow?

The obvious answer is yes, it does preach violence, but given the fact it's clearly a pol bait question masquerading as history it seems disingenuous to not mention so does Christianity.

How many Christians actually follow the entire biblical canon? Including Old Testament? Probably none.

Asking whether Islam promotes violence isn't the right question considering 99% of followers of any religion pick and choose

No, its not /pol/ bait. Christianity spread primarily through peaceful means, has NO injunction to spread itself by the sword, and the only holy wars of note in its history are fights against ISLAM.

Islam meanwhile was established by Muhammad who immediately and personally conquered the Arabian peninsula and within a hundred years his followers had an empire that spread from Spain to India. There is absolutely no comparison between the two faiths to be made even in Christianity's most violent stages.

>has NO injunction to spread itself by the sword, and the only holy wars of note in its history are fights against ISLAM.

I wonder what Scandinavia would say about that

or, shit, the protestants for that matter if you wanna set the clock forward a bit

>Does Islam teach its followers to be violent

Islam as a religion teaches violent things yes but within limits and contexts (which so often get forgotten or channeled instead to 'justify' actions that a specific group wants to promote or justify).

It's not necessarily a matter of being violent or teaching violence but violence is a part of human life and it teaches one to recognize that.

>what are the northern crusades
>what is the destruction of the european pagans
>what is the 30 years war
we could go on, to suggest that christianity spread through primarily peaceful means is to state that you know nothing about european history

The Jews with their openly supremacist texts are even worse.

There is no conversion in their religion but that of the in-group forever being superior than others. To look down upon others. To mistreat them where possible.

You forget a lot of context that goes with those commands.

>and the only holy wars of note in its history are fights against ISLAM.
What about the northern crusades
they're kinda really noteworthy

>Christianity spread primarily through peaceful means

Hardly any religion spread 'peacefully'.

Usually it followed along some imperialistic conquest bought on by the conquerors of some other lands.

>Does Islam teach its followers to be violent or is it relatively peaceful?
The Early Muslim Conquests speak for themselves.

how does Christianity preach violence

I honestly don't even know how to respond to this

then you're being intellectually dishonest by claiming it preaches violence

The Quran only teaches "minor" violence, such as pedophilia and execution
Books after it, also from Muhammad, preach genocide and sexual slavery

See

>that UK
When will Brits realize that they're the least white European country, that all the muslims living there are from former colonies and their islamic bullshit has nothing to do with the EU but their former imperial rule?

>Which group follows Islam most purely?

Sunni hanafis. Oldest school of Islam.

I smell the Kraut/Frog all over you

>what is Judaism

>Christianity spread primarily through peaceful means

No it didn't. Islam, however, did. It primarily spread through trade.

>Which group follows Islam most purely?
