Who won WW2?

Recently had an argument with a bunch of communist cunts about how shit communism is. The fuckers said the USSR was a utopian paradise that defeated Nazi Germany essentially alone.

So, who really won it: UK, US, or USSR?

nobody really "won" the war, but the US was in the best condition coming out of it

American sweat, Russian blood and all of Europe's tears.

USSR, but UK & US was good moral support

Turks

The allies won.

The USSR fronted the most manpower and fought the bulk of the Germans, with the help of lend-lease and also the British and Americans at least keeping some pressure off the Russians by staying in the war. In the end it was a coordinated effort, we can talk all day about whether the Russians would have pulled it out without help but it's a useless hypothetical - they didn't.

The USSR.

The most critical point of Barbarossa was moscow winter 41 and exactly there the soviets demonstrated that they could beat the germans on their own.

No 2nd front absolutely no lendlease.

Deal with it

>Recently had an argument with a bunch of communist cunts about how shit communism is

Let me guess user

did you say

>muh 60 million
>muh high taxes
>muh venezuela
>muh animal farm

It was kind of a team effort.
At best, the war would have lasted much longer and would have been much more destructive for the allies if even one would not have helped.
At worst, the nazis would have won, had just one of them not helped/been defeated.

USSR has not been a paradise. Especially not during the war. But they really defeated the Nazis. Everybody else was not nearly as important.

no, lower standard of living and the retardation of economic growth is enough to put Marxism to rest.

The USSR was not marxist.

The means of production and labour were controlled by the state, not the proletariat.

The closest we've had to a real communist state is Yugoslavia.

I was using Marxist as a colloquial term that encompasses all the similar ideologies (i.e, Soviet Socialism, Leninism, Maoism, etc.)

>Soviet Socialism
It was never Socialist.

This concept 'Socialism = State control, high taxes' is a reagan era misconception designed to make conservative capitalists look good, and socialists look bad.

In reality, Socialism is the movement of the means of production from the hands of corporate interests to the workers themselves, and acts as the precursor to communism in which currency was arranged.

Maoist China collectivized agriculture, it did zero 'socialist' activities.

The US and UK sent the Russians a lot of equipment, without it they would've lost.

Are you forgetting Stalingrad.

The Germans took about 45% of their irrecoverable losses (killed/missing/captured) against the Western Allies, primarily the Americans.

>Eastern Front: 7.3m [4m dead/3.3m POW]
>Western/Southern Fronts: 6.7m [1m dead/4.2m POW in the West, 0.15m dead/1.4m POW in Italy]

They also lost about 1/3 of their tanks against the Western Allies and the overwhelming majority of their aircraft and ships. Which both constituted a very large part of their overall war budget. This isn't even getting into Lend-Lease and strategic bombing.

The Germans had already lost.

US for sure

USSR almost lost, millions of casualties and poor as fuck, only won because the Americans distracted the Germans and gave them billions of dollars for weapons and resources

UK didn't do shit really, only defended themselves and help the Americans win in Europe, they got their asses kicked in Africa and the Pacific

The US swept Africa for the most part, swept Italy and later on the rest of Europe, and swept the fuck out of the Pacific and bailed the British and the Aussies out while they were at it.

Any book recommendations on the successes and failures of stalins economic policies?

German armies running from the Soviets to surrender to the Western Allies rather distorts the final POW figures.

USA USA USA USA USA USA

but really, the USA benefited the most from the war
