El jem

why isn't the roman colosseum in Jem-Tunisia known as much as the original one in Rome?

Because it is not the original one in Rome.

there are Colosseums all over the roman world ahmed you can't expect every Colosseum to be well known

Western bias.

So its not famous because it a Colosseum, its only famous cuz its in Rome?

wait, theres one in rome aswell?

>why isn't local high school stadium as famous as professional stadium

Western media will only care if they can promote ISIS at the same time

Because the Romanboos taking grand tours in the 1700s went to Italy, not Tunisia

>tfw my old high school's stadium is as famous as a professional stadium
feelsgoodman

Because its smaller and its shitter

also it is located in an irrelevant part of the world

>So its not famous because it a Colosseum, its only famous cuz its in Rome?
There is no such thing as "a" Colosseum, there is THE Colosseum (it is the nickname of the specific amphitheatre located in Rome), then there are other amphitheatres. Then one in the op is not a "roman colosseum" but a roman AMPHITHEATRE.

But to answer your question, it is the most famous of all amphitheatres because:
a) It is the largest amphitheatres ever built.
b) It is in the former imperial capital, Rome, which was the most relevant (through out most of roman history) of all roman cities, and is also the most famous.

There are by the way several well preserved amphitheatres, pic related is located in croatia.
So they are not the rarest of buildings.

I love that one, they actually still hold concerts in it.

wish the Roman one was in good enough condition to hold the Champions league.

>wish the Roman one was in good enough condition to hold the Champions league.
That would be amazing, I'd get into football only to experience that!

>repair colosseum to original specs using only 100% accurate stone and plinian ash concrete materials
>fit synthetic grass carpet on top
>get the guy who did the voice for the general in RTW to announce the event
>offer bread and wine
>get sluts dressed in stolas and LARPers in legion armor on the entrances
>replace all the toilet paper in bathrooms with sponges on sticks

it even sounds like there is a football crowd cheering in the background

Id forgotten how dope his voice was. I should use this for my alarm to wake up to

-its half the size,
-built 200 years later,
-not surrounded by other marvels of ancient engineering.
-not in evropa.

>>get sluts dressed in stolas and LARPers in legion armor on the entrances
if you go to Rome now there are lots of people in costumes at the coliseum

Because if Muslims find out about it, they'll destroy it for being an "idol".

Is the one where a Christian Berber ruler is supposed to have made their last stand against the oncoming Muslim horde in the 8th century?

Why would it be? There are dozens of roman amphitheatres in Italy, dozens in Europe and dozen in north Africa and the middle east. Why should El Jem's one be famous?

>wish the Roman one was in good enough condition to hold the Champions league.
You mean you'd actually allow fucking ultras in a historical site? You degenerate.

Because Tunisia is a shit holiday

>you'd actually allow fucking ultras in a historical site?

it's not like that place wasn't always meant to hold mobs of plebs or that you couldn't idiot-proof a historical site.

people still drive under arcs of triumph, people still walk over the appian way, people still cross the Alcantara bridge.
