Saudi Arabia is obviously one of the more extremist one. Even there though, there are some women and their families that come to the united states to practice a more moderate form of Islam(that doesn't include honor killings) as well as send their daughters to college.

The main problem with Islam is not that they are strict in drinking or chastity(so is Christianity), it is the opportunities that many of the countries and the cultures deny from women and rates of abuse, and that is what feminism focuses on more(more extensive domestic violence laws feminist push for) Many women are socialized(a.k.a culturally brainwashed) to wearing the hijab the same way women are socialized (a.k.a culturally brainwashed) to wear bras or tops in the west. They would feel naked without it so many will wear it willingly and continue to do so even as they practice their own form of Islam.
