Let's talk Vietnam War

I'm a history nerd, don't judge.

And can this please be a serious thread? I'm not in /b/, though all they post about is porn, which is personally think is visually disgusting.

So, just like post stuff about the Vietnam war here, I guess.

I'll start. What do you guys think about most of the soldiers who caught injecting meth into their bloodstream, due to the stress involved in the war. BTW, 90% of them dropped their addiction once they "evacuated" Vietnam.

OP is literally 14 years old and this is his first month on Veeky Forums.

You realize Veeky Forums is effectively a decentralized volunteer high school subbing in for our failing public school system right? Don't judge, teach.

However true that may be it doesn't stop me from calling a spade a spade

I read somewhere that drug usage among allied (South Vietnamese, American, Australian, etc.) soldiers was no higher than their civilian populations back home at that the "soldiers all used drugs" was just a meme drummed up to badmouth the war. Let me see if I can find a source for that.

This. Jesus christ what a cringy post and he's even namefagging

>injecting meth
It was heroin, what the fuck is meth gonna do to relieve their stress?
>INJECTING meth
How old are you?

>You realize Veeky Forums is effectively a decentralized volunteer high school subbing in for our failing public school system right?
Lol I never realized that but it's pretty fucking true.

First time on Veeky Forums? I'd suggest you lurk for a few weeks before posting.

>implying meth can't be injected

It could but that's a terrible way to get high from it

Do you have first habd experience?

I actually do, I was an emt for a few years back in highschool, and some retarded nigger ground up meth and injected it into his bloodstream. I'm pretty sure he died.

this
if you're interested in amphetamine use in warfare lookup Pervitin and the Wehrmacht

That is incredibly depressing, given how frequently flat out wrong answers and fucked up advice gets posted on here.

yeah imagine how depressing it is that that happens just the same in "official" institutions of learning. lesson one in life: trust but verify

I hope this isn't true, I've posted complete bullshit before and had (you)'s agreeing and asking for more info.

It's a million times worse on Veeky Forums. You can generally get decent advice on tech, vidya, anime and other pop culture related stuff but anything on politics, sociology, relationships, history, business or finance, etc is a raging dumpster fire.

>people on Veeky Forums getting b8ted by this obvious shit
Get a grip

>Decent advice on vidya

"Caught" ? It was a policy.
