In developing Asian countries, we still have very sexually repressive societies and it is necessary to be a virgin until marriage for people of all social classes. But I imagine East Asians apart from the Chinese are more Westernized, and less prude. I have noticed that economic development need not go hand in hand with sexual liberalisation. No matter how wealthy and educated your family is in a country like mine, it is still absolutely حرام to have sex before marriage. Also dating when you're still in school is socially forbidden. But I have seen in Japanese films that highschool kids have girlfriends and boyfriends and stuff like that. Can someone properly explain what the attitudes regarding underage dating and premarital sex is like in the following countries: Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan? It's not as taboo as it used to be (before, it would be social suicide), but it's still not as degenerate as the West. Dating is fine and kinda cute. Slutting around is still shit on, and girls who do so are not considered respectable marriage material. East Asia has a robust skeleton of Confucian values.
Chinese girls are the most prudish, hands down. Communism could never stamp out 2,000 years of Confucianism entirely. And the modern Chinese media is largely not allowed to show things which aren't "family friendly". Japanese culture has always been very sensual compared to Chinese culture and only people from important (and by extension, more Confucian) families face any real shame for fornication (especially women). In a way it is true. The hymen can be broken in many ways including riding a bike,horse, or just intense exercise. That's probably why all these things were traditionally not encouraged of women in the distant past (see side saddling).
What's more, is it IS possible to have sex without damaging the hymen. This takes some skill and prepping but it is possible. And then there is the very rare possibility of not being born with one in the first place.
The best bet is seeing how stretched a girl's vagina has become to track number of partners but even this is futile since the vagina is a muscle so after a while of no sex, it will simply recoil back as with after child birth. Thus all "methods" invented to track if a women was a virgin are pretty flawed.
