Debating historical decisions using hindsight is boring. Everything is obvious. I never understood why people asks questions such as these.

The Allies didn't attack the USSR because they could not have foreseen the role Soviet Union was going to play as an antagonist superpower. Especially not how much of a threath nukes would be and how fast the USA would lose their monopoly on it. Maybe even if they saw that coming, they would still not be willing to escalate the war even more. In their minds, they figured it was best to have what was seen as an incompetent communist government in Russia as an enemy than an axis of powers craving war.

It was only by the very end of the war that everybody realized the mistake they made by not looking ahead. It was too late to turn back and attack then. USSR was already in a state of mobilization almost beyond human comprehension. Even if the Allies won, it would have taken the soul out of every human being in the world. We're talking deaths by the hundreds of millions at the end of it all.

The US could've opened up a two front War with Russia, All the seasoned Army units in Europe would've hit them and all the Marine/Army units would've hit them from the Pacific. We probably would've have naval superiority for what it was worth as well as air superiority to do bombing runs on their supply lines and industrial areas. Also, if it means anything, the US had always been good at stomping the shit out of a zerg rush, even when they do lose they stomp on them so hard they can't continue.
