What has caused liberals to become so averse to violence, when historically liberalism itself was founded on violent revolutions?

lol "founded on violent revolutions" try harder

Liberalism has no use for violence and brute force, that is the domain of dangerous far left and far right extremist radicals.

Because liberalism became the dominant ideology, there is no more need to smash things and whip out the guillotines like during the days of monarchism

>liberals
>not violent

is that a joke?

You know Orwell retracted that statement a few years later right?

Orwell was a socialist. Watch people get mad at truth.

Source?

>confusing classical liberalism with modern liberalism
Get out

I always cringe at non-violent "protests"

Gandhi's protests were not violent and he single handedly overthrew the British colonial government in India.

>orwell
>liberal
>burgers in charge of discussing politics

Gee OP I don't know!
>Centrist
>radical

But you can Google the phrase and get any number of other sources for it.

No he didn't. He just noted that using the term "objectively" doesn't take an individual's intentions into account.
He stands by his basic premise that pacifism enables fascism.

Liberals (socialists) are very violent today. Liberalism from the 19th century is pretty much extinct the closest to it is globalism.

>liberalism itself was founded on violent revolutions
>not knowing the difference between modern liberalism and classical liberalism
You know that Orwell was a literal socialist right?

>single handedly
I think you might be being a little facetious with that post

A socialist who hated and was disheartened by real world implementations of socialism. This is common knowledge

>a leftist being sectarian
wtf I hate leftism now

pretty sure that's his point

What a waste of dubs. He never renounced socialism he critiqued socialist movements particularly authoritarian socialism.

They aren't averse at all, they've just stretched the term Nazi to mean anyone who would dare say their country has a culture worth preserving.

Orwell's best essay was on tea.

Why does the mafia boss not kill someone?
He has no need anymore.

I hope leftists get more violent so beating them to a bloody pulp is more justified. Bunch of skinny nu-male faggots

>implying you even need to beat them to a pulp
Just call them fags and niggers, they're going to cry.

Reality is objectively pro-fascist

This is why lefties are in power and fascists are in basement shit posting in /pol/ threads?

>This is why lefties are in power
Wat

...

Neoliberals aren't leftists m8.

>liberals averse to violence
Maybe "classical".
Modern liberals are a walking contradiction.

there are resentful apes who just want to fight (and ideology is just a tool for them) and smarty smart people who want to resolve everything with words

violent types: nazis, antifa, zulus, etc
wordy type: every intelligent person everywhere
also: 4channers who pretent to be apes but really are either trolls, wordies or zeros

sometimes the wordy intelligent seeking to overcome himself and the limits of his ego tries to understand the ape so hard, he comes to justify the ape in his words and at times in his actions, that's just a side effect of having empathy for the ape

I wish the EU was communist

because liberalism, which was once progressive and an outside force, has become the world-dominant system, thus it hates any challenge to its power from below and castigates violence

A socialist who actually fought for his beliefs instead of crying on Twitter.

>I hope leftists get more violent so beating them to a bloody pulp is more justified. Bunch of skinny nu-male faggots

>muh meme from 2012 t. numale antifa cuck

>>muh meme from 2012 t. numale antifa cuck

When you're the hegemonic ideology all of a sudden you don't want people you rule over getting too uppity.

conservatism is about "conserving" the status quo. Liberalism is about new ideas. You don't just get rid of the status quo without some sort of violent revolution, especially in the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It's not that hard to understand.

Naziism is a form of radical centrism

>liberalism
americans should really stop using this word
