I agree society benefits women in some ways, but that's not the same as matriarchy. Society benefits kids in many ways, too. All societies are basically patriarchal even if they try not to be, just like all societies end up being oligarchal and capitalistic even under nominal democracy and socialism. The only exceptions to these trends are rare, fairly small tribes. Even in matrilineal and matrifocal societies men generally control religion and politics - the Mosuo for example.
