They retain their individual culture, ethnic heritage, language, and still revere their pre-Islamic traditions and followings. Look at the vast majority of the rest of Western Asia and the Near East or even North Africa, most of those other cultures completely lost their original tongues and identifies with Arabization. Hell the "Arabic script" is based off Middle Persian and Aramic.
