It would be horrible, the IJA in SEA suffered horribly from the conditions, disease, starvation, climate and combat. The only ""good"" time they had was hacking up Chinese people.

People talk about Germany in Russia and the cold weather, but there was no army in history that got so outright broken by logistics and climate than the Japanese. The majority of their casualties in Burma, Philippines and surrounding areas as well as many islands were to disease and starvation. The worst logistical shit-show witnessed in military history was the Japanese army in WW2.
