HEY YOU!

HEY YOU!

Come up with an alternative history on the spot. Anything goes as long as its not too retarded. Make fun of and be autistic about their suggestions.

The battle of Marathon is a resounding success and Darius marches 110,000 men into the Greek peninsular. The league is smashed at the siege of Athens. Persian rule is implemented from Macedonia to Athens, Thebes and Sparta become tribituaries to Persepolis.
The peloponnese war never happens and Macedonia never expands.
Rome eventually expands and invades Persian Greece in the future

>catharism holds its weight in southern france, the albigensian region becomes a nationstate in the future with a troubled history similar to ibadite Oman on the arab peninsula.

>Mesoamericans dont get rekt by desease. The spanish have to concede more power to the old religion and even though intermarrying and the creation of clientstate happens you end up with the gody turned to angels and the mass being held in place of blood sacrifiece on top of the pyramids way into modern times. The International community sees the US as a backwards, reactionary place where Negros (for that is what they are still called) are made to know their place, and white supremacy groups still influence local politics. Decades of international sanctions, lack of trade, and isolation has made the US a poorer place with a reduced role on the world stage.

>>Full abolition postponed until 1898.

Even Brazil only lasted to 1888, I think it would occur sooner than 1898

There would still be veterans who literally fought for slavery hanging around, i think the south would have a hard time giving it up even if it would help them.

That's basically Kaiserreich.

Honestly, there was no way for USSR to survive even without Brezhnev fucking everything up. The problem is the catalyst of the Hungarian revolution and in 1990 the western economic supremacy, after those 2 things it's an uncontrollable spiral, because internal soviet weakness is exposed.

Another Soviet POD, often repeated, which is interesting, would be if Stalin never succeeds as general secretary in 1922, (maybe he has a little accident).

Instead Bukharin becomes general secretary, great purge never happens, and institutes the NEP with some forced collectivization after pressures from Zinoviev and Kamenev. Partition of Poland and WWII happens as normal, lasting a year more probably. BUT, Ukraine never had Holodomor, ensuring greater loyalty to the Soviets.

Had this happened, by the 1990's the Soviet Union would still be both a superpower and a powerfull economy. Gorbachev could come along and propose referendums for the republics, and the Warsaw pact would still dissolve, but the Soviet Union in the west would still have Belarus, Ukraine, Moldavia, and in the east all the turkic 'stan republics.

A Soviet Afghanistan war would still happen as it was geopolitically inevitable.

Communism would remain the boogeyman it was for the West, though the Soviet Union would be friendlier to the West and Europe due to seeing China as a mutual competitor.

>It's 105 AD, a lonely Roman merchant ship got lost after a storm off Atlantic coast of Iberia, their return voygae is untypically long. The ship crew manages to survive thanks to food and water as their merchandise

>2 years later
A curious Roman general in Carthago Nova hears a story of a local mad sailor, who swears he escaped a hell on Earth. He claims he and his crew landed on an unknown shore after the storm, where some demons kidnapped them, and took them to the most magnificent city he ever saw, as prisioners. His comrades were gruesomely killed in a sort of public ritual, he managed to escape, collect as much food and sweet water as possibile in the forest, build a raft and get back, using sun as navigation, after realising he was far to the west

I'm at work, so that's all I'll write for now, tbc

No Hellenistic period = no Rome. Without their powerful Greek allies and sponsors, the Latins remain under the boot of the Etruscans.

Muhammed is killed in his first battle. Islam is stamped out in its infancy. The spanish reconquista never happens. Castille fails to unify on the iberian peninsula, instead France and Portugal carve up the territory. French and Portuguese fleets crush the budding Netherlands and English at sea. The Portuguese claim south and central America while the French colonize north America. Both nations treatment of the natives is gentle and the result is combined tribal/European nations. Ontario is the center of a unified canada/us country, with the iriquois finally rallying the other tribes and overthrowing french rule.

Why the hell are Castile and Portugal still a thing if there is no Muslim Invasion?

Even then though, wouldn't you think that a government influenced by white supremacy would send the negroes back to Africa instead of keeping them in the States and giving them civil rights?

For various reasons, none of the nomadic migrations across the Pacific or the Bering Strait ever reach the Americas in sustainable numbers. The New World remains completely uninhabited until the 15th century.
Without native guides and laborers colonization proceeds much more slowly. Gold and other untapped resources go undiscovered for decades or centuries, vastly reducing the economic incentive to colonize. New World crops like the potato exist only in their wild form. The growth of European civilization is significantly slowed overall.

Easier said than done, theyd probably try to come up with a plan and then realize its not really feasible and instead inact some kind of alternative solution.

All I'm saying is if we're talking about a white supremacist society thats indifferent to the welfare of the blacks, I couldn't see why they'd have a problem with rounding them all up and sending them back to Africa or a Caribbean island. That or they'd start killing them all but whats to stop them from going after everyone thats not an Anglo-American?

>Fends off Eastern Roman attempts to conquer Italy

Not much else to add without extreme assumptions on what might happen, eg. Belisarius' descendants trying to conquer all of Gaul and Hispania, if it would collapse due to conflicts with the Franks, Vandals, and Arab raids, or anything else.

Im white and i already hate those indians

>Both nations treatment of the natives is gentle

You'e basing this ludicrous faggotry on what, exacly?

>combined tribal/European nations

So desperately poor and backwards?

Based I'm white and I wish my ancestors had never come here, having visited Ireland and Denmark is much nicer than america

Instead of being a gigantic worthless faggot, Diocletin is a good emperor and reinvigorates a unified Roman state. Though dynasties come and go, and for periods Rome is under barbarian rule, a unified European empire survives into the modern era, permanently stunting Europe's economic and cultural development and leading ultimately to a world totally dominated by China.

Without the muslim conquests Iberia is stilled ruled by a single visgoth kingdom. What happens to that Kingdom is then totally alternate history

user, just try and have fun for once in your life.

The American and Oceanian colonies develop like this, just because I like the borders.
Ones that are still tied to their old world masters are ethnically and linguistically over 90% related to them, other than Alaska, Greater Greenland, and the Japanese Pacific, which still have tons of natives.
In Dixie is a country for the five civilized tribes, over 90% native, decent living standards.
In Utah is a country founded by this world's Mormons, mainly white, decent place, but only if you're a Mormon.
Navajoland is under Utah, full of Natives that speak Navajo.
California, Texas, Mexico, Columbia, and Argentina are all Spanish-speaking countries that broke away from Spain, some are better than others.
In the center would be a territory that France and Britain, and, eventually, a few others agreed to jointly operate as farmland. Eventually, when a few hundred years had gone by, and it had a decent population, it fought for independence. Speaks German, since most of its immigrants were Krauts, and there was no official language, when it was a joint territory.
And, lastly, the country of New Africa, on Hispaniola and Jamaica. Founded by blacks as a place for ex-slaves, nearly all went there after the European countries banned slavery.
The borders are rough, and would really follow rivers. I just like this map, because it would make all the borders look so attractive. And imagine all the battles that could take place there! Naval wars in the Great Lakes, great armies moving through the Plains, it would just be so cool.
Unchanged things probably go similarly to our world.
Wait a second. I just noticed that you said "On the spot."
Damn.

>The general got intrgued by sailor's tale. He thought westwards from Iberia there is nothing to be found. Altough being a veteran of Dacian campaign, the general hadn't earned the fame he always wanted. If there really is a land in the west, he decided it is worth to go and take a chance of earning inmortal glory.
>The governor of Iberia was suprised by general's proposition. He asked for a ship requiring small crew, yet big enough to fit supplies for half year of journey. General was influential, so influential that the word about his extraordinary request got to emperor Trajan himself. Altough governor had doubts, he got personal order from emperor to let the general go. Trajan always seized opportunity, and life of one general, some sailors and one ship were enough to be risked for a journey that can prove do revolutionary.

>After a long journey and almost lost hope the crew came across multiple small islands. Ship sailed further west, until the sailors found a far piece of land. The mad sailor trembled in fear everytime he looked on the shore, but the general decided to go along the coast.
>Finally, they spot a sort of seaside village, and decided to explore it. From the ship they saw some people running away to a forest, deep in the mainland. They armed themselves and entered the abandoned village. What they saw inside, schocked them. The houses stored more gold than the general saw his entire life. This wasn't their only discovery. The found a teenage boy, hiding in one of the houses. There was no way to communicate with him. He shouted a lot, but the Romans never heard similar language. His looks were also strange. He had dark complection, yet his face was similar to these of merchants from the far east.
>Sailors took as much as gold as possible, and the boy as a gift for emperor. On the way back 1/4 of the crew died, including the mad sailor.
Still, they were greeted in Iberia like heroes. They were personally received by the governor. When Trajan heard about the great return, he immadetly left for Hispalis, to meet the explorers, leaving his most important tasks behind.
>2 months later
>Emperor Trajan called 5 legions to the ports in Lusitania. What he heard from the captured boy was enough to start planning the most ambitious campaign in Roman history. The boy managed to learn basic Latin and share as much knowledge as he could, before one month after return he died from such simple sickness as flu. Apparently gold was so common in this "new world", that even slaves wore it. But gold rush wasn't the biggest factor in emperor's decision. There was a city much bigger and much powerful than Rome. It questioned the world greatness of eternal capital of Empire
>The name of this city was Teotihuacan

>Nazis try to gain loyalty of the Reichswehr after the takeover

>Gets on Rudolf's good side and stabilizes relations with the Poles and Turks

>A thousand years later, GĂ„rdarike is a devout catholic state with its own language, germanic syntax but with several Finno-ugric, slavic, and turkic loanwords. Moskva is a small town and Nyborg stands where modern day St. Petersburg does.

bump

Yeah, I exagerrated a bit on that one. The point is Teotihuacan is the greatest nemesis of Rome since Carthage
>Trajan summons the most brilliant engineers of the empire to make up a new ship model, that will make transport of soldiers through Atlantic much easier. Altough they show bitter rivalry to each other at start, they manager to project a new, innovative model of ship, similiar to caravel from real history
>year later ships are built, deployed, and soldiers wait in Lusitanian camps. But Trajan has one more, and the most important decision to make.
Stay on the continent, to make sure the empire will run smoothly, or take a risk and take personally part in the most glorious war on history of Rome. He has to ask gods. And so, the sign from guts of sacrifical lamb leave no doubts. Conquest of the new world will make the emperor the most famous Roman in history.

>Austria, Sudetenland, Danzig, Alsace-Lorraine all incorporated
>make friends with European nations

pick one lol

these regions were inhabited by an overwhelming German majority at the time.

They were also located in non-German countries

Why would France want to be friends with Germany after losing Alsace-Lorraine to them because of a referendum?

Why would England want an ascendant Germany, even with the threat of the Soviets? Why would France want one?

Why would Poland want to be friends with Germany after losing Danzig, considering the poles beat the Soviets back in the 1920s? England could just become buddies with Poland then, no?

You seem to be making a lot of assumptions that Germany can get back to pre war strength with every being fine and chill with it

>Viking adventurers introduced smallpox to the Americas, not the Spanish
>After an initial devastation, natives repopulate the land
>Vinland is still a thing but nobody really cares or realizes the importance
>When the Spanish land, smallpox isn't a virgin field pandemic
>Indian tribes are able to resist European conquest and form proper nation-states
>America never progresses past the 13 colonies

the thing is these regions were considered German for hundreds of years, since Germans settled there, so they were just "located in non-German countries" because of annexations after WW1.

If you're talking about the displacement of a people that happened within a lifetime or two generations, I'd see why one wouldn't consider the new population as "rightful". These regions however where inhabited by Germans since the late Middle Ages (Alsace-Lorraine actually even since the emergence of the German & French nations), so acting like these regions weren't German seems incorrect to me.

>Why would they be okay with...

If they weren't they'd be in the wrong.

>Doesn't know about Frederick the ''Great''s germanization of western Poland

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostsiedlung

I've always wanted to know what would happen in this scenario. Only thing that's ever came close is the exodus of the Byzantines in 1453 to the Americas, instead of to Italy, and leave Constantinople to its fate. Good mod for EU4.

Frederick II's Germanization attempts were conducted in Western Prussia, which I never claimed to be "rightful" German territory (pre WW2)

>The new land is named Quietania, after Lucius Quietus - the general that organised the first expedition there
>In 109 AD, the voyage starts. Trajan leaves the burden of running the empire to his most trusted advisors
>5 legions arrive to Quietanian coast later this year, and set a camp beat the shore. Trajan is sure that he is close to Teotihuacan, Quietus recognised the shore.
>On the landing day Romans capture few natives and interrogate them. First by officers, about the army of Olmecs, as they find their name, and the distance to the city. After gathering info. They are interrogated by common soldiers about gold. The first night there are many incidents. Most patrols sent to mainland forest disappear without a trace. Trajan knows he needs as much knowledge of the region as possible. He doesn't want Teutoburg forest to happen again. Everything changes when to the camp comes a small group of armed locals, giving signs they want to talk

why don't the Romans end up in Northern America or some Carribean island before they land in Mexico?

the implication that can only be drawn by the reader is that "godzillas" encompasses each subject in the photo, as they all are poised in expressions of disbelief toward the computer screen

Navigation

>After exchange of language, Romans learn that their visitors are a small tribe harrased by powerful Olmec state with capital in Teotihuacan. Olmecs use to kidnap their people and sacrifice them to their gods. They are willing to serve Trajan if it means liberation. Romans present them to Roman art of war, to make them imperial auxilliaries. Romans also learn secrets of Mesoamerican warfare. With this knowledge, they are ready to advance. A long, jungle war begins, yet Romans manage to make progress.
>Unfortunately, in 111 AD, Trajan dies from local sickness, same as 1/8 of his army until that time.
>When he died, a regular Atlantic communication route was already established. Soldiers and colonists move to Quietania, while to Europe are brought tremendous numbers of gold. They make empire richer than ever before. Rome can afford powerful defence of its every border line. Roman empire is introduced to new foods, potatoes become a big hit. New predators, such as jaguars and pumas, together with Olmec prisioners receive an honour to fight in Colosseum itself

>Altough the new emperor, Hadrian, is willing to continue the conquest of Quietania, he knows that previous emperor left too many unfinished buisnessess back home. He stays, yet sends to the new world another wave of legions. Before 116 AD, Teotihuacan falls, and when Romans overrun whole Mexico, they are ready to expand southward and northward.
>Roman empire becomes the greatest achievementent of humanity. With Quietanian resources, it manages to conquer whole Europe. For hundreds of years it is a world haegemon. It's troubles start only 1000 years later, when Quietania wins the war for own independence.

God damn, never thought I'd ever make such long fanfic.

that was nice.

The Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine forms an alliance with the forces of the white army under Wrangel after the Red army's first betrayal. Wrangel and the Makhnovschina marche right into Moscow without peasant militias to cut through. By this time the former Royal Family of Tsarist Russia has already been eliminated and Wrangel becomes the new military leader of a splintered Russia. Bolshevism retreats into the depths of Siberia and after fighting that lasts well into the 30s a ceasefire is declared. Pockets of Western Russia are made into autonomous zones for Cossack forces that aided the White Army in their fight against the Bolsheviks but the Makhnovschina are betrayed again, this time by Wrangels forces and are ultimately driven out of Ukraine and Russia. The Bolsheviks are utterly incapacitated and have limited influence in Siberia, they make easy pickings for an imperial Japan in World War 2 and are conquered utterly.

That didn't go where I thought it was headed

Basil II lives a couple of years longer, and leads a successful reconquest of Sicily as he was planning to do historically. Strengthened ERE control of southern Italy results in the inability of the Normans to establish states there, instead they likely serve as mercenaries for various nations. The Macedonian dynasty probably still dies out and is replaced by the Komnenoi or an equivalent dynasty. With a more secure western frontier the empire weathers the storm of Turkish incursions. Manzikert almost certainly doesn't happen, Anatolia doesn't completely fold, and the Seljuks launch huge invasions of Fatimid Egypt as they were intending to do.
As a result the Crusades don't occur, at least in their historical form, and Constantinople has a much stronger presence in Italy, and can project power into the west more ably and influence the Papacy, which means no Great Schism.

Judging from the pattern of Byzantine history the borders of the empire will probably contract again, likely in the mid or late 1100s due to some invader, possibly the Pechenegs. But the empire will overall be stronger, have a more dominant role in western Europe, and no Turks in Anatolia.

OP said alternative history.

where can i find some good alternate history fanfiction????

>The Varian Disaster doesn't hold back Rome and they eventually subjugate Germania like they did with Britannia and Iberia, reaching as far as the Vistula River, and create a wall much like the Hadrian wall along modern southern Denmark
>Roman Empire is not overrun by Germanic tribes but instead by Huns which they successfully hold off but only temporarily and the Huns do sack Rome
>Mongol tribes eventually do overrun the Western Roman Empire (divided by the Elbe in the North), effectively creating, along with Slavic, Ugric and Altaic/Turkic tribes, similar alternate kingdoms to what the Germanics did in our timeline
>The Eastern Roman Empire continues much like in our timeline, but it stretches on up north until the Baltic Sea along the Vistula, and is similarly influenced by Slavic tribes and kingdoms
>Ireland, Scotland and the modern Nordic countries regions join late in the game in a similar fashion to what happened in our timeline, just influenced by Turkic/Slavic migrations
>the entirety of Western Europe, except the regions I just said, speaks a Latin based language, including regions of modern England but also modern Poland and Ukraine, except certain people in Greece where Greek is seen as a sort of prestige status language
>Christianity evolves in a similar fashion but with corresponding differences to what happens in this timeline, Judaism loses relevancy in places other than Judea where it remains as a local religion (other pocket local religions also exist)
>Islamism just doesn't exist, Sassanids simply get eventually overrun by Turkic or Mongolic tribes from the North but Zoroastrianism remains and influences middle eastern Kingdoms and Khanates
>Northern Africa is equally split into two but never overrun by Arabs which means Christian Kingdoms along modern Morocco and Libya remain and try to conquer further into the south making contact with the Mali Empire which is successfully Christianized

The exact same thing will happen. Only way less Islam. So I guess a bunch of fractured Christian city states in the Middle East would be cool.

There was no way to have peace with the eternal Anglo. Peace with Russia and a coalition against Ottomans is much more likely if Napoleon empire survives without invasion of Russia. Nappy also grants some independence to Rhine confederation and Spain.

French geopolitical thought at the time was centered on making the Mediterranean a French influence lake. So colonization of North Africa was in the agenda for a long time.

Liberia declared independence. It is recognized by America as soon as the American civil war breaks out, and a lucrative arrangement is made between the two nations. Every freed slave in what used to be the Confederate State is sent to Liberia, partly because the Liberian President realizes that he needs a large base of English speaking Afro-Americans to make into a country, and partly beause the American Government just plain does not want them. Liberia as a state grows and grows as they maintain a policy reminiscent of its' mother country, USA, in that it awards parcels of land simply based on who can claim it first. It recieves immigration, first only from America, but then from the Carribean and South America as well, and expand through the large amount of new world negroes and mixeds seeking a better life. Later, it also recieved immigration from other parts of Africa, with a noticable spike in the fifties as the Apartheid policy was made real.

In the dawn of the 21st century, Liberia borders the Sahara in the north and the Kongo river in the south. It's just barely majority christian with the vast majority of practisers being part of the Church of Liberia, a syncretist version that compromises between tribal religions, catholicism, and Lutheranism. Its official language is English. the number of native speakers as well as literacy has been ticking up steadily since Liberia was first founded.
