Why are there people who deem this man praiseworthy?

Why are there people who deem this man praiseworthy?

Usually people who hate America, there is no reason to like the guy other than his virulent anti-Americanism.

Because they conveniently forgot about him the kind of shit they would never forgive in Western leaders, like supporting Mengistu Haile Mariam or sending gays to concentration camps.

He's the generic go to guy among south americans as the type that resisted the US and got away with it. Similar to how practically everyone in the former Yugoslavia has a soft spot for Tito regardless of politics.

Are the rumors true?

because he overthrew an american puppet and then was untouchable to the americans despite (allegedly) repeated assassination attempts

I really don't understand why the CIA was never able to remove him.

Commies are not logical people. They're religious.

>anti-Americanism
>good
America has been, for more than a century, a consistent force for good in the world.

>America has been, for more than a century, a consistent force for good in the world.

He was a tin-pot dictator that just so happened to have a country situated 90 miles from the coast of Florida. Khrushchev just about busted a nut when Castro came to power, because he was now able to put nuclear missiles close to the US mainland like we did in Turkey and other Eastern European countries.

While it gave the impression that the rag tag Cuban communist rebels were standing up to the big bad American military force in the 1960's, it could not be further from the truth. Castro would not have a leg to stand on without Nikita pulling the strings in the background.

While a successful communist uprising right in the middle of America's sphere of influence was no small feat, the subsequent gushing of communists over this guy is nothing more than a love of all things that "stood up" to America.

There's this weird Veeky Forums thing where it posts the first line of greentext but it doesn't post the argument.

Try posting again without the anime reaction image or the greentext but with the argument and see if that works.

Because he was a serious bad-ass.

Maxed-out luck stat.

And maybe soviet Spies in the States tipped him off on every assassination attempt. Just a guess.

>guys in charge of your country literally sells it to the mafia
>kick them out
>America gets mad
>suddenly everyone in the world hates you

being Castro is suffering

Cuba pulled through some severe hardships, particularly famines, that would have devastated anywhere else. Considering the economic sanctions they've developed under, Cuba is an inspiration for a self sustaining state.

But OP didn't post an actual argument, why should he?

OP posted a question. Greentexting with a cringy anime picture isn't a response or an argument.

I mean, he did not suck in Star Wars, and the first one of those Taken things was ok I guess... but yeah, I can't really understand it either.

Greatly increased the standard of living and uncucked his country.

He's mostly admired because he was the only revolutionary socialist to succeed in Latin America, got the ball rolling on the anti-imperial movement, and was a handsome and charismatic world leader.

Miami conspiracy theory is that the CIA refused to seriously try to overthrow him, because a Soviet ally on your doorstep is great propaganda.

They like his taste in beards.

>Increase literacy from 65% to 96% in one year
>Life expectancy in cuba is higher than the us
>Universal healthcare
>Free education
>Country is know for having good doctor
>A working middle class cuban can attend a ballet for dirt cheap, in other countries the arts are a privelage to the rich
And so on and so on
But yeah "he was a dictator guys lol"

>self sustaning

Cuban socialism is only viable through foreign support, be it Soviet or Venezuelan.

Cuba always had a good standard of living compared to the rest of Latin America. Actually, under Castro it fell behind.

Go live there if you find it so good.

>America has been, for more than a century, a consistent force for good in the world.
it's been a jewish slave for more than a century

*revisionism intensifies*

>it's a cherrypicking episode

Oh no, he doesnt have changes of fashion, what a tragedy, we better get some capitalism to tell him to buy different fashion style every few months

All I did is answer op's question, no need to be childish about it

What a childish attitude.

You can recognize that a set of policies improved an area without thinking it's a utopia. I like the YPG and what they're doing but I'm not gonna leave the comforts of the first world for fucking Kurdistan.

Wow he really does look like Liam doesn't he?

I will love to watch how Western progressives will react when the YPG starts massacring Assyrians.

>i-it wasn't real communism

I'd rather be Castro than any of the people he Cabana'd.

It's an underdog story. He went against the US and won.

>handsome

Good one.
