>great grandpa was best friends with this dude en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanullah_Khan and was his right hand man during the civil war
>great uncle was Gorbachev's limo driver in NYC
>great (x5 or 6) grandfather was brothers with an Afghan king, which makes me royal family, and my dad and I are currently working to confirm my great grandma's claim of this (she has no reason to lie)

My family named the gastineau channel way back when, it's almost dryed up now
I have a cousin who played for the Jets in the 90's

I think I'm a descendant of this guy:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrell_(surname)#William_Terrell_who_married_Susannah_Waters

my great g-ma's family had a large tobacco plantation in North Carolina and I tried to genealogy and went a few generations back on someone's mother's side along the way and got to the Terrells

also my great uncle was The Beatles pilot and then U2's pilot if that counts for anything

and my cousins' cousin is Chris Hadfield

oh and my great grandpa might have been chummy with Grace Kelly and Lucky Lucciano

John Paul II's helicopter flew over my uncle's house once

Do u live in Alaska?
Cool

I'm Australian but for some reason I can trace my family back to very early Colonial Massachusetts

peasants...peasants all the way back. i think my great grandpa was a rising star in the local chapter of the Yugoslav communist party before they kicked him out for speaking too candidly...either that or he left on his own when realized everybody was just using the party to steal anything that isn't bolted down I always forget the story...spent the rest of his life as a plumber

feels mediocre man

oh yeah the thing about the Terrells is that would make me a descendant of William the Conqueror

My family were blue veins and members of the J&Js who had more wealth than most white folks for the better part of 300 years.

Well one half, the other half were illiterate until two generations ago and farmers.

I'm only a quarter Jewish but i'm a descendant of this ancient Jew: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillel_the_Elder

He was most likely where Jesus got the golden rule from. Also my Grandpa, fought in Zionist militias alongside Menachem Begin.

My great-great-great grandma or some shit like that was the bastard daughter of one of the Grafs Kesselstadt, a (very) minor Rhenish noble.

You can trace your lineage to 110 BC?

>she has no reason to lie

what crime did they commit to get kicked out new england?

I know jack shit about my family history pre-1700s and what I do know isn't very impressive

In general:
-Maternal grandfather's side were Swiss farmers who lived in Pennsylvania prior to moving to Ohio/staying there for 200 years
-Maternal grandmother's side mostly English-Scottish, lived in Virginia primarily, but also Maryland, DC, and New York, generally well-off
-Don't know anything about my paternal side (yet) other than that they were A. poor, B. almost entirely Irish, C. from Ohio

Also I'm 2-5% West Asian and I don't know where that's from

Pic related; my great great maternal grandfather I think (within one generation)

My family's claim to fame is that we're somehow related to the wife of Jesse James, but I dont know if its actually true.
We're also supposedly related to some people who were a big enough public nuisance that their whole town just gunned them down in the street one day.

>tfw mestizo
>tfw known family history only goes back to great grandfathers

That being said, my paternal great grandfather and grandfather did some morally questionable things like turn on his people so his family could make it out alive. You see, communist in his country managed to convince the injuns that they were the best think since tortillas, unfortunately the Military took this as an excuse to waste any Injuns they saw.

So in order to avoid being genocided, Great Grandpa sought out the Army in his neck of the woods and made a deal. He tells and leads them were the commies are hanging out and him and his pueblo don't get removed, a bunch of dead communists and injuns later and his village didn't have that many neighbors anymore.

My dads side of the family has been staunchly anti-communist ever since, so here's the question guys, did my great grandpa dun goof?

No fucking way you can trace it that far

Well my grandpa on my dad's side was in the 10th armored during the second world war. He would tell us about how he was surrounded in Bastogne with the 101st. Also he was a part of Task Force Baum which was the failed attempt to rescue Patton's son in law. I don't know how much of it is true or whatever, that's just what he told us before he died a few years back.

Also my Great Uncle on my mom's side died test flying a biplane in like 1919.

>rice farmers and charcoal salesmen on one side
>lutheran refugees on the other, with a dash of viking rapebaby
fug :-DD

>No fucking way you can trace it that far

I really can. Very very long line of prominent Rabbis, who meticulously preserved their lineages.

>Great great great grandfather on mom's was one of the original texas settlers
>Named after him

>great (x11) grand(uncle? I think) was on the Mayflower.
>was real young, moved back to England and then to the Bahamas
>dies of starvation with no kids
If there's any blood relation, it's extremely slim, but it's nice to imagine.

If he's Mizrahim, it's possible. According to Jewish tradition and law, NOTHING with Gods name on it can be burned, destroyed or disposed of.

So you're a Cohan/Cohen/Cohain is what you're telling Veeky Forums?

My last name is but i'm not considered one because my mother isn't Jewish. I have tons of pure Cohen cousins though, who are ultra-Zionist religious maniacs. Since they are Middle Eastern and have such a long history they are unapologetic about Israel being their homeland.

My Grandpapa fought the Japanese in the Red Army in 1939, later defected to the British and fought Rommel, Italians, and Vichy French in North Africa, fought the British as part of the Irgun post-war, Fought Arabs in the 1948/1956/1967/1973 Arab-Israeli Wars, and served as an adviser for the South Africans in Angola in the 1970s where he came into contact with Cubans.

He always joked about how he fought the Germans, Japanese, Italians, French, British, Arabs, Cubans, and Africans throughout his life.

>Since they are Middle Eastern and have such a long history they are unapologetic about Israel being their homeland.

how do they feel about the Palestinians?

I only know my family history of 2 or 3 generations...

fathers side:
>grandpa fought in ww2 as anti air support - no fighting
>his brother lost an arm during the war (don't know where)
>their father was a soldier in ww1 but it seems like he didn't see any action
>all of them and everyone before were farmers

mothers side:
>farmers or unimportant ppl
>house of my mothers grandparents got hit by a bomb in ww2, someone died (some relative)
>storys tell that hitler came by and shook hands - pictures where thrown away after the war because hitler was a bad guy

Wow now that I think about it my family's history is not that impressive and I can't trace it back that much but the former generations were a great family. Current 2 gens are meh...

>great grandpa who was a merchant had a brother who was a dentist
>got killed by partisans on accident, because "he looked like a german"
>fast forward a few years
>one night someone knocks on the door
>it's someone from the village
>he begs my great grandfather to pull out his rotten tooth because it hurts
>"listen, i'm not a dentist"
>"but your brother was a dentists, it must run in the family"
>"ok, but if something bad happens don't blame me"
>the lamp wasn't very powerful
>he took pliers
>and he started pulling
>he pulled out two healthy upper teeth and knocked out two lower ones in the process
>toldyouso.jpg

What's with goy always asking this on here?

I'm related to Abraham Lincoln on his mother's side. Ironically, I'm also related to John Wilkes Booth.

I am a son of God and will inherit the earth one day. I also inherited eternal life. Oh and my Father is adopting.

my kinsman:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prek_Cali

Who else has nothing worth of mention here?
My ancestry is basically just a bunch of farmers, all from the same area, living there for hundreds of years probably.
At the same time, it is scary how quickly you can lose touch with your extended family. I stayed in South Africa for some time only to later find out that I had been living some 30 km away from some relatives of mine, who are descendants of my great-great-uncle who came there as a missionary.
Also got missionary relatives who went to Brazil and Suriname. And relatives in North America, of course, having living relatives in the USA is hardly avoidable.

So many descendants of adventurous relatives, I just stem from the branch that stayed-

I actually want to post few stuff but it is kinda dangerous for me lmao.

>grandfather survived a Jap POW camp and served under General Westerling as a special forces sniper
>opposed racism all his life, forgoing the family fortune for the sake of it and being declared persona non grata in South Africa

With all the shit he had seen and went through, nobody would have been surprised if he had become a bitter man. But even on his deathbed he was grateful for the life he had.

My other grandparents survived the Soviets and hopped the Iron Curtain, so that's nothing to sniff at, either. I've also got at least two old-timey sea captains among my ancestors. In general, my family has been pretty hardcore. Except for me.

Got any Beatles stories from your uncle?

You do what you have to do. I have no love for communists, though. They tried to kill my family a lot of times.

My grandfather once slapped the Christ-bothering side of the family hard. One of them was theory-crafting that if people had been "more Christian" during the war, shit would have been alright. Granddad told him to shut his big hole, and that if push came to shove and he had to feed his kids, he'd bash his neighbour's head in with a rock to do so. Because everyone would. That's human nature.

Given that granddad has actually been through the war, I trust his judgement.

So did he do the right thing? If you ask the commies, he probably didn't. But he survived, and they didn't, and that's the end of it.

this

I've inherited a name all the way from a nobleman who led soldiers as a general in the 30 years war.

My ancestor game to America by prison barge after a Jacobite war.

Nothing really changed, most of my family are still drunks and criminals.

>Nobility in France
>French revolution happens
>Flee to the Netherlands
>Be me in the Dutch lowerclass
The nobility and their riches are still alive and well, but they never liked my grandmother (who was on the nobel side) so I got cucked in the long run.

>>great (x5 or 6) grandfather was brothers with an Afghan king
>(x5 or 6)
you are idiot.

On my mothers side I am related to the scientist Andrew Cross, who did lots of experiments in the 19th century about electricity. He is also apparently the person that Mary Shelley based DR Frankenstein on in her novel.

On my dads side its butchers all the way back.

Inherited surname and name from Danish kangz

Can trace my family to a petty count who employed around a hundred people on his manor at the turn of 16th century Norway.

Wouldn't surprise me that my line is the result of him fucking maids and prostitutes.

I live in sweden but my great great something grandpa was apparently some prominent socialist in Denmark. I know no details but grandma is proud as fuck about it

>16 century
Generation - 25 years. 2017-1567 = 450. 450/25 = 18. 2^18 = 262144.
Do you know all your 252144 ancestors of 16 century?

No I don't. But I can still trace my surname specifically to that person through church ledgers and population census.

My great great grandmother was a village healer practising prechristian skills and beliefs, stuff like telling the future from dreams.

She decided not to teach her daughter how it's done and the skill died with her

It's more than you faggot

Where do you guys live now?

Well, not that shithole for sure. Maybe if it calms down in twenty or thirty years I'll visit kabul but not likely, might go somewhere safe like panjshir or herat even sooner idk

I'm related to these, they opened a bank in my town which later merged with Barclays

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backhouse's_Bank

Mostly a bunch of farmers and merchants. Most relevant guy was a great uncle who was in charge of the ESMA during the dirty war, not really someone I like.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_War?wprov=sfla1

Blood relative of Nicholas Longworth, Speaker of the House back in the 20s. Probably still better known for being TR's son-in-law.

My great grandfather (father's side) fought in the battle of Guadalcanal and my great grandmothers parents were involved with the mob. My grandparents on my mom's side lived under Jap occupation. Ancestry.com also said that I'm related to Abe Lincoln, but I dunno about that.

There was a 10 feet giant, he was my (x5)grandfather. Or (x6). Not sure, i dont know about x2, x3, x4, but he was.
Can you understand pathetic stupidity of your sentence?

>It's Poland, 1968
>Be my mom, 12 yo girl scout
>Take part in a scout trip to southern frontier, Carpathia mountains
>Stay in a hostel next to a main road to Czechoslovakia
>Comfy.jpg
>It's evening, and suddently, you hear loud roars
>So loud, you can't sleep
>WhatTheFuckIsGoingOnISwearToGod.png
>The same, violent noise whole night
>Next morning, still same
>You finally go out to look what's happening
>You see a massive column of Soviet tanks and trucks, moving on the road to Czechoslovakia
>They've been moving whole night
>Find out from the radio, that there was a rebellion in Prauge, and big brother Soviet intervened, sending forces from whole Warsaw Pact to squash "nazi reactionists"

This guy was my maternal Grandpa's cousin.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Lucey
My Paternal Grandpa testified before Congress as a victim of some sort of Union scam.

>seemingly permissable

...

My Grandfather was a draft dodger during WW1 who ran away to Ireland to escape having to join the war. In the end got caught and spent 6 months in prison though.

Thanks Granddad.

my grandfather worked for the communist party in the 1960's as an electrical engineer, my great-grandfather was a major ROC army during the chinese civil war.

No, fuck off

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans-Karl_von_Scheele
>German general in the Wehrmacht during World War II
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Wilhelm_Scheele
>Carl Wilhelm Scheele (9 December 1742 – 21 May 1786) was a Swedish Pomeranian and German pharmaceutical chemist. Isaac Asimov called him "hard-luck Scheele" because he made a number of chemical discoveries before others who are generally given the credit. For example, Scheele discovered oxygen (although Joseph Priestley published his findings first), and identified molybdenum, tungsten, barium, hydrogen, and chlorine before Humphry Davy

Got a lot to live up to, but so far haven't amounted to anything.

My greatgranduncle was the first commander of Red cavalry after the Bolshevik coup.

There is printed record of him going to meet Lenin - kitted out in full tsarist regalia, spurs and shiny medals and all, and Lenin telling him to keep wearing those, as he had earned them.

Dude was later a commander of an infantry division during the Civil war, the neighbouring division was commanded by Chapaev - which is a character anyone from the former Warsaw pact will know. Apparently Chapaev stole bacon from him one morning.

Pic related - him during the Civil war. Note the extremely silly early Red uniform.

You descend through the female line so you have about as much claim as the king's royal fucking donkey.

That's not true

My Dad did a fair bit of digging and found out that we're distantly related to Isaac Newton through marriage, I think it was his sister or cousin. It's really grasping at straws but it's the only claim to fame we have

Oh, and he also managed to not be purged - fought in WWII as well, and lived to 1983.

His nephew served in the SS, meanwhile. Life takes weird turns.

>Afghan "royalty"
>literally mountain pedophiles with a bigger stick than the other mountain pedophiles

I'm related to a military general currently fighting in Southern Sudan
He's my uncle, my dad's brother.

Polack?

PEASANTS ALL THE WAY BABY

>South Sudan
>any meaningful military ranks

Well, to be honest, military ranks have meant anything for a very short period of history.

Before that it was a case of "you're a respected member of whichever caste is now seen as respected - how about you command this unit, which you can call whatever you want, regardless of size?".

Ancestor was a Knight of Santiago, killing Muslims and shit.

Poor bastard apparently didn't mind fucking the shit out of their widows, 'cause I came out looking like one.

>Be Huemonkey

> Family comes from a long line of Yemenite jews in the arabian peninsula and surrounding regions.

>Most of them were travelling merchants (Yes, le stereotype), as there weren't much other occupations for jews back then.

>Can trace back family origins back to the middle ages.

>One of my ancient ancestors personally knew and worked as an advisor to Tamerlane, from what the records tell.

>A lot of others travelled the silk road into central asia and india, with one particular ancestor building quite a fortune on the indian spice trade.

>By the 19th century family has mostly settled on the region of Tyre, Lebanon.

>Years pass and WWI ensues.

>To escape the war and persecution, family flees to Brazil.

And that's about it, nothing really that interesting desu.

My great, great grandfather founded a family company that is now one of the largest in its kind, making our family one of the richest in our country, Im named after my grandfather who is named after him. my great grandparents were resistance fighters in ww2 and earned the yad vashem posthumously. I can trace my bloodline to charlamange (like evertone else in europe I reckon)

father's side
>great great (idk how many times great) grandfather was a knight from Malta
>the whole clan moved to Spain, had a town named after them
>move to South America cause civil war

mother's side
>great great grandpa was a famous spanish painter
>great grandma was the princes of an aboriginal tribe
>lol ilegitimate sons

lmao, that's a great one

this is Veeky Forums- history and humanities
you must be looking for /pol/- politically incorrect

I wish I could do more research to find out more, all I know is that my great grandpa was one of the leading generals in recruiting for ww2 in the east united states. At least thats what i've always been told, no idea how to find out if it's true lol

>implying you're not a cuck baby

You know, i agree with you that stormweenies are a problem, but constantly complaining about them won't fix shit, ignore them and they will fade away, it's not like anyone takes them seriously here.

By repeatedly complaining about them in every thread you just make them more of an issue and alienate people that possibly would be on your side, to them you just sound annoying, not some cool fighter of virtue.

Napoleon used to say "never stop an enemy while he's comitting a mistake", stormweenies can't win a discussion because facts are not on their side, they will fail if left by their own devices, the only reason they have a growing presence is because of people like you who create a legit excuse for them to pretend to be victims. (Ironically a tactic very similar to the "SJWs" they criticize.)

Unless of course i'm talking to a troll, then do whatever mate

I honestly don't know what my family history is past my great-grandparents. Is there any good way to research that stuff that's not paying shekels to some jewish website like Ancestry?

My ancestor was on the first fleet, the charlotte

I had a great grandfather who got shot in the leg in Central Park smuggling liquor during prohibition. My Grandfather Grandfather was on on one of the the first ships in Tokyo Harbor after WW2.

That's about it.

X times great Grandfather came from Ireland and served under General Washington at Ft. Necessity

X times Great-Aunt married Edwin Booth

Adoptive family is from a pretty scottish clan famous for fighting alongside William Wallace

Thats about all I've got desu

not a /pol/fag, it's just ridiculous when people from backwards pedophile tribes huff and puff about being royalty. It doesn't mean anything. So yea, nah, cunts.

All i know is my great grandmother was indigenous but my grandma doesnt want to tell me what tribe they were despite telling her i want to preserve their language. I only roughly know they spoke otomi.
Ive been looking into DNA testing. I want to know if im italian or a spaniard.

>not a /pol/fag
yes you are
Afghanistan was as secular and improving as Iran before the revolutions of '78 and '79 respectively, if you actually gave a shit about history you'd know they weren't always backwards ass allah akbar kid fuckers
>en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reforms_of_Amānullāh_Khān_and_civil_war
They had a fucking air force in 1921. Dumbass.

>The political and judicial reforms Amānullāh proposed were equally radical for the time and included the creation of Afghanistan's first constitution (in 1923), the guarantee of civil rights (first by decree and later constitutionally), national registration and identity cards for the citizenry, the establishment of a legislative assembly, a court system to enforce new secular penal, civil, and commercial codes, prohibition of blood money, and abolition of subsidies and privileges for tribal chiefs and the royal family.

Is that your grandpa? He looks like a cool dude.

peasants, my dads family has been peasants in ireland since time immemorial.
and ill have nothing exciting to tell my grand children about my life either...

Go out and grab life by the balls user

My great great grandpa died at Pearl Harbor. He was off duty but ran back to join the defense when the attack began. He was a good guy from what I heard.
My dad made Bill Murray laugh
And my legacy will be fucking up a spoiler, apparently.
