I understand this might be a long shot asking this here, but I realized that this might not get a serious answer on /pol/ or /news/.

Japan has enjoyed enormous demographic rise spanning from the 1950s to 2000s. While it faces unfavourable future with the aging population and very low child birth rate.
Why doesn't the government implement some kind of government-sponsored marriage program where they pair a man and woman together (basically a government approved dating program) that gets financially enticed if they marry.
Also a child policy of 2+ kids that are financially encouraged similiar as China does with 1 child policy. Wouldn't this drastically steer Japans course away from its demise? As I understand, Japan is a very resource poor nation, and its main source of success are its smart and hardworking people.
Why are they letting their one and only treasure suffer like this? Their people should be their number one priority.

Also why doesn't Asia return back to its Asian roots? I understand that Japan with its current wealth could really establish the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere " and that Japan could be at the forefront of that unity. Many other countries in Japan would be very iffy about something like that since WW2 wounds are still "fresh", but with the WW2 era population dying out, eventually it could become a reality. I see nothing wrong with Japan slowly releasing its ties with USA, turning to Asia, earning their trust slowly, until it becomes feasible to attempt such a league similiar to European Union only in Asia.
I believe this is the only way Japan can stay relevant in coming period, as unlike China it isn't riddled by corruption and fractured in many ways despite being a power to rival Japan.

Pic unrelated, just wanted some eye candy to attract a post or two.

Have some more Chinese architecture.

If we take a historical precedence, when large swathes of the population died during the black death in the 1300's, quality of life improved for the survivors.

Also nations who simply thought prosperity would come when they simply had more population ended badly:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decree_770

Communists in Romania tried this and it generally did not work out well.

More people = good is a meme that needs to stop.

If there is a shortage of resources, Japan will do better than say people in India or Africa.

>government approved dating program
Hello, /r9k/.

Russia, a country also facing demographic decline, also provides incentives to marrying and having kids. It's not helping out that much

>when large swathes of the population died during the black death in the 1300's, quality of life improved for the survivors.

But those people died in a relatively short space of time. Japan has an entire generation which will have to be cared for as it ages and slowly dies off.

So why can't you get laid OP?

So? Elder care creates jobs and innovation.

All the Japanese talk about it making robots to take care of the old.

I'd rather be an old person in Japan taken care by robots, then living in a hut dirt floor being ignored by 12 children.

>More people = good is a meme that needs to stop.

But the point is that its literally the lifeline of Japan, so yes, more well educated and hardworking people=good. I believe this kind of strategy wouldn't work in any other country on planet, but since its in such a unique predicament and has limited assets I believe this is the only way for them. Also I don't advocate for anything more than a replacement rate (2-3 kids).

Also, Russia is very different culture. Things not working there might work elsewhere. Also it proves that there hasn't been a yet effective way found to entice men and women to marry and have kids, or that they are using ineffective means. Its not only about financial view.
A literal dating program done professionally might be all the push they actually need.
People are afraid/don't know to interconnect and probably don't get many chances now that they are in workforce, stuck in the same old rut with college/high school acquaintances that are already chewed out, and no literal progress exists in finding a mate.

Well if you are a globalist and just want cheap labor, then yeah... Have all the babies.

See. You cannot educated everyone nor put them into the work force if you want them too.

If people are just fucking to fuck, then they don't really produce the optimal offspring. Also Japan in a fucking Island with limited resources. Population is better when its low because there is more resources to go around and schools aren't crowded people can actually get a good education.

You just have to put limits on immigration which Japan does.

Also... Biology is a dead end road.

But I don't blame you for not seeing this as humans are inherently designed through evolution to want to see propagation of more humans through sex.

However, you can't simply fuck your way into a space program. Dinosaurs didn't.

Not to sound too SJW for you, but a big reason is that women's labour rights are extremely shit in Japan. Well, actually they're OK on paper, but there is widespread cultural pressure. It's like the 1950s never ended. Women get pregnant and are expected to never work again. Japanese men are expected to work 14 hour days 6 days a week for 40 years. Japanese men are pretty shit partners, so Japanese women don't want to marry them. They don't want to start families because it means any life outside the house is over, or at least is expected by many others around them.

It's not so surprising. If they want to stimulate family growth, they need to give women a reason to bother. Men can still be household leaders and don't have to be total 'cucks', while still having a working wife and kids.

I give it 50-60 years before Nigerians, Bangladeshis and Afghans are swarming Japanese cities. What will all the weebs do then?

A declining population leads to economic decline. What OP was saying was to have a 2 child policy to keep the population essentially the same as it is right now instead of having shrink to 70 mil. They're going to be forced to invite immigrants over like European countries.

Russia is a bleak corrupt shit hole, and most Russian men are poorfag drunk losers. Who would really want to raise a family there? That's why they promote the Orthodox church so much. Partly 'cause it's nationalist and a Putin puppet, and also to guilt and scare people into making babies

>Russian parents

It leads to a tax base and consumer decline, less souls to refill debt vacuums, which is a globalist capitalist nightmare. It is not necessarily an overall economic decline. With increased automation and controlled retraction, it could be fine.

It can't be all old people though.

The declining population is due to the country being in recession for the last 25 years or whatever it is. You're not going to solve that by having more babies.
They already pay people to do pointless jobs like fill up your gas and make sure people cross the road safely. Bigger population isn't going to help there. Abe-kun is on the right track trying to make Japan a fictional liberal democracy instead of national socialism desu imo senpai.

Fucking weebs I swear. Japan's birth rate is very comparable to some European countries, and it's barely past its peak, and you expect the LDP to take drastic measures?

No one in East Asia wants Japan to lord over them and US-JPN relations will dip the moment Japan decides to stop being useful to the US.

>Biology is a dead end road.
I didn't quite understand you on this point but, as I've stated I didn't mean anything else but replacement level of procreation. 100 mil would be a decent place to stay at, but it would still be overcrowded. Over a period of time, how about decentralize the area of Japan to not overpopulate the coast (particularly the west east coast of Japan which is the industrial powerhouse), populate the plains and some mountainous area by, bear with me "factories" IE jobs that can be done anywhere, not just on coasts. E.G. Metallurgy, electronics, manufacturing etc.
It would eventually solve overcrowded areas, if done step by step (also enticed financially and by cleaner environment to live in).

Also I don't believe Japan will ever invite immigrants of any kind, let alone middle eastern one in case of demographic problem. They staunchly refuse Korean, Chinese and SEA immigrants as if cursed. Economic downfall seems preferable to open immigration. Just my 0.02$

> it's barely past its peak
It doesn't have to be drastic measures, like I said a replacement level would be enough. Now is the time to take steps, not when its deep in shit.

Also glad you touched upon my second inquiry, as no one seemed to want to tackle it, but I already explained that I know that
>No one in East Asia wants Japan to lord over them
And that is exactly why Japan should try moving towards that goal. You are misinterpreting me when I say what they should do. I don't mean now. I mean in a century that Japan would be able to lead way for East Asia. 100 years of hard effort ought to be enough to convince East Asia to consolidate with each other and become lead by Japan/China as much as Europe is by Germany/Italy

>throwing more money at schools = better education
Hello, Democrat Party shill.

Again, the LDP is perfectly content to sit on their hands until shit hits the fan.

Regarding the other point, even if it is 2200, it wouldn't be in other nations' interest to let Japan lead. It's not about trust, it's about what benefits they would get from acquiescing leadership position to an increasingly light weight in the region. And this is all assuming the EU proves to be a huge success, even though it is held by a shoestring right now.

This architecture looks nice. Sauce?

>Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere
That was always a meme, user.

Brush up on your google fu.

As long as US stands, it won't allow world 2nd and 3rd largest economies to get too friendly.

So how long has the China-Japan rivalry been happening? Is it mostly because of the war crimes or is it older?

About 500 years with a serious uptick ~150 years ago.

What did you mean with that bit about Abe?

Because Japanese government is already heavily in debt and mismanaged as is their economy which is only beneficial for the wealthy. Japanese societial, while modern, is very backwards and aged since the tech boom.

Japanese work culture is suicidal.

Industries don't just pop up in the same place by coincidence. Producing goods by the coast is beneficial because it reduces transportation time and cost, and staying close together allows businesses to share a labor pool which is mutually beneficial.

>Why doesn't the government implement some kind of government-sponsored marriage program where they pair a man and woman together (basically a government approved dating program) that gets financially enticed if they marry.

They do that. The program is called "Japan Self-Defense Forces".
Young men and women are invited into the unofficial army, and its very heavily advertised and swelling.
There, they are matchmade, there are constant parties and paid vacations with other single "soldiers" of the opposite sex.
