whyte devils

it's just their human capital. Haitians may as well be abbos.

Because the U.S. completely abandoned them. It's the same situation as Liberia

Real capitalism wasn't applied.

It's somewhat screwed over by its own geography, it's constantly battered with hurricanes and earthquakes which makes it hard to pick up the pieces when they keep getting destroyed coupled with already poor infrastructure. It's also extremely deforested and it's affected the soil making it less arable and lots of poor leadership for decades.

God put their island right smack dab in the middle of Hurricane Alley.

This is idiotic. Haiti was rich as a colony.

Do you have a brain?

niggers.

For an extremely small group of slave owners, not the average person.

The elite (read: the French colonists) were filthy rich and made themselves fancy furniture from trees and handsome profits from the soils, but for most of the population it was basically hell on earth.

How did the USA abandon them? Is the welfare of the Haitian people the responsibility of the US government?

but rising tides actually do lift all boats. Pale face for all their issues keep cannibals at bay and infrastructure intact.

The average lifespan of enslaved people there was like 9 years. It was the worst colony in the Americas if you were African and enslaved.

We were a regional power by that point in time. It was our responsibility to help them.

Go not abroad in search of monsters to slay.

Nice white man's burden you got there.

It was one of the most productive areas in the Americas. It doesn't matter that the wealth wasn't captured by the slaves, the land was rich.

The cause of poverty in Haiti is the people who could not extract wealth from the land.

>our
Speak for yourself. Why don't you go down there personally and help?

Oh yeah the fact that the US outright invaded once and at other times kept it in a state of servitude doesn't matter...

they fear the debt warrior

After a period of instability in which several governments were overthrown in quick succession by Haitians.

The wealth itself was finite and limited to monoculture agricultural enterprises that were bound to dry up with erosion, drought, deforestation and the limitations of export economies with limited diversification along with literal policy and fear that any economic support would bolster slave revolts elsewhere.

The conditions to maintain the economic growth of sugarcane in Haiti could not continue it was barbaric and beyond anything else unrealistic for a nation of equal citizens if on on paper even

Do you truly, honestly think that with no foreign involvement Haiti would be rich today? Foreign food aid is the only thing keeping them alive.

The US actively undermines providing people with a real means of living

>Three quarters of Haitians live on less than $2 a day, according to the United Nations’ World Food Program, while garments constitute about 90 percent of Haiti’s exports, according to the Guardian. Haiti increased the daily minimum wage to the equivalent of $5.11 in 2014.)

>But back in 2008 and 2009, embassy officials repeatedly told Washington that a hike would hurt the economy and undermine U.S. trade preference legislation known as HOPE.

>The program, shorthand for the Haitian Hemispheric Opportunity through Partnership Encouragement Act of 2006, gives garments manufactured on the island duty free access to U.S. markets. Levi Strauss, Haneswear, Nautica, and Dockers are just some of the American companies that benefit from HOPE. Congress passed HOPE II in 2008, extending the program for another 10 years.

It's a job and some income but it's not something a people can do anything but eek a living from

literally Crooked Clinton Foundations's fault.

So it's all whitey's fault, got it. This is why blacks will never actually amount to anything. They have no internal locus of control.

frenchmen revenge

>It was our responsibility to help them
Why?

Don't make me say it!

You can say whatever you want but American policy rarely benefitted or benefits the average Haitian.

They killed the creole pig and brought imported pink pigs unable to cope in the conditions of Haitian farms leading to heavy input costs including feed that could have gone to humans.

From American occupation to support of dictators and later embargos the history of the US and Haiti is one that seemed to be more predatory than beneficial.

It was really a combination of things that led Haiti to where it is today. The state was built by mostly uneducated slaves driven by revenge, and rightly so. It was hell on earth to be a Haitian slave. But constant revolutions, paying France, and being essentially black listed by every country didn't help either.

The main problem is they didn't adopt actual free market capitalism.

>/pol/cucks are literally equal or worse than SWJs

Wow nice argument buddy, you got him!

Rising tides lift yachts. But rowboats are swamped.

They also supported a coup of Aristide.
Papa and baby doc were total assholes in every sense of the word.

The only reason Haiti has any infrastructure whatsoever is because of the two us invasions. If it weren't for them Haiti would look worse than Papau new Guinea.

basically a bunch of reasons:

>population absolutely decimated by slavery, torture etc
>constant hurricans, earthquakes
>nigger leaders who destroy the whole country by looting it
>aids

They kind of killed anyone educated enough to know what those words mean.

That's false, having gone to school with children of Haitian elite this is most definitely not the case.

>The most brutal slavery in the western hemisphere
>Lack of political and social institutions other than purely extractive ones. It's not like uneducated slaves can build institutions.
>American meddling
>Foreign meddling in general, especially foreign """"aid""""
>Continuously poor leadership because of the above reasons. (Slave past means you're not going to have a cadre of educated elites at the start. American meddling ensures only easily manipulated pro-American leadership get into power. Leaders' control of industry and foreign aid means they stay in power with little incentive to distribute power.)
>Hurricanes
Oh wait that's not the answer you wanted right? It's because of the color of their skin.

The biggest factor in my opinion was that after the revolution no other country would recognize nor trade with Haiti. The black market was the biggest economy for haiti for a long time.

Add to that the massive debt France forced Haiti to pay for hundreds of years,, various years of US military occupation, frequent revolutions, natural disasters, general corruption, foreign aid corruption, and undermining of haitian farms and businesses by cheaper US products.
the last one is important because it causes local businesses to fail leading to unemployment and dependence on foreign products, whose prices can be raised to the point where an average citizen barely makes enough money to pay for food to survive each day.

Because blacks are stupid. If yiu put whites on the same land with the same conditions it would be a much nicer place. Hell just look at the Dominican Republic and they're black-brown mongrels.

because the french killed this guy

hand me outs

>people are actually ignorant to the fact that Haiti is heavily in debt to France for the past 200 years despite having been founded by a revolt

Haiti never developed a large enough bourgeoisie/administrative class to develop successfully once independent. What ruling class it had was extremely corrupt and self serving. Also this though.

Liberia was well off until the 90s. When the natives overthrew the American descended ruling class. Then Ebola hit.

>Haiti never developed a large enough bourgeoisie/administrative class
They had one but sort of killed them all.

It wasn't though.

profitable does not mean rich

Many of the Haitian revolutions most fearsome supporters were well-educated freemen and mulattoes who would later form the upper crust of Haitian society.
The real inhibitor to free market capitalism in Haiti were the international markets themselves. Obviously, the French didn't want to trade with them, and the British and American traders had inhibitions about trading with them and legitimizing a revolutionary government that inspired unrest in the slave populations of Jamaica and the South.

They could have however formed the basis for one.

All black ruling classes are corrupt. Explain how white lands with corrupt governements still do better than Haiti.

Don't forget that that debt was paid by deforesting the entire island, ruining agricultural productivity and making the peasantry even poorer

Its hard to tell someone to stop deforesting the land when lumber and charcoal may be their only source of income and power/heat because the economy and government are fucked.

It's basically all France's fault. The French pigs ensured Haiti was forever indebted to them and had to pay a "colonial tax" of a large sum before the country even had a functioning economy. France is evil.

lol no

this

I think this is absurd and completely wrong.

>are you fucking retarded

The 1950s and 60s dictatorship. And then AIDS came from the Congo (Mobutu rented out the Haitian Bureaucracy). Then Clinton.

...

>It's because of the color of their skin.
>le race is skin deep meme

They literally sold their soul to Satan.

It may also be prudent to plant some more trees so that you may have some more trees to cut down in the future.

lol. Thanks for the laugh mate.

>How did the USA abandon them?

The US gives food aid to a lot of neighboring countries in return for being allowed to harvest their resources.

Haiti doesn't have anything to harvest so they get no aid.

If the neighboring countries stopped receiving aid, they'd be just as poor. In fact a lot of places in the neighboring countries are indeed just as poor. But there are some semi-functional regions that make the whole look a bit better.

>live in mudhuts for 100,000 years as an upgrade from trees

>get enslaved by an advanced alien race and be made to live decent lives and create things of worth

>dumb aliens decide to try and free you because of some new meme

>get freed and decide to kill the guys that just freed you anyway because you can't comprehend what's going on

>return to mudhut paradise and double digit birth death rates as is natural

>dumb aliens learn invaluable lesson about changing the natural order

I don't see any problems.
