Finland truly is weaponized autism.

He's been talked about to death, but I really respect Patton.

...

The rule its:

If they have a Sabaton song, they were super heroes.

And both were men who did everything in the name of being awesome

>daily reminder that this man was considered "subhuman" by nazis

INMATE IN HELL
SHOUT LAURI TÖRNI'S NAME

Indeed.

Patton believed he was the reincarnation of Hannibal.

who knows, maybe he was.

>that big head on small body
>that hairline
>that skull shape of a tube
>nice chin though
I can see why. Cool guy, either way.

Was Torni actually an adherent to Nazism/Fascism or did he just have a rabid hatred of Communists?

Much more so the latter, Finland in general wasn't really on board with the whole Nazism thing, it was more the Soviets were getting all up in their grill, and Germany was willing to provide aid. Torni in particular, obviously, hated communists with a passion.

I always assumed Torni was simply an adrenaline junkie and kept signing up to fight wars because he liked it and was good at it.

>Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe OFM Conv. (Polish: Maksymilian Maria Kolbe [maksɨˌmʲilʲjan ˌmarʲja ˈkɔlbɛ]; 8 January 1894 – 14 August 1941) was a Polish Conventual Franciscan friar, who volunteered to die in place of a stranger in the German death camp of Auschwitz, located in German-occupied Poland during World War II.

> Here in the Hürtgen Forest, on Nov. 12, 1944, Lt. Friedrich Lengfeld, a German officer, gave his life while trying to save the life of an American soldier lying severely wounded in the 'Wilde Sau' minefield and appealing for medical aid."

Kenshin Uesugi is the kind of figure out of history who seems like more fantasy than reality. This guy was a pious buddhist monk and a ferocious warrior and brilliant general all rolled into one.

Every last foe he faced was treated honorably, in a time where life was cheap and cut down as frequently as tufts of rice.

His battles with Takeda Shingen and their famous rivalry seriously reads like it could have came out of myths and legends, and part of it undoubtedly has, but they were also real people doing crazy things.

any and all of the first responders to Chernobyl.

>This guy
>he

TOP FUCKING KEK

Is this a meme or a new "we wuz queens" movement I'm unaware of?

Also came across this
>Kenshin has been featured in many video games, such as the Koei's Samurai Warriors and Warriors Orochi series. He is a playable character in Pokémon Conquest (Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition in Japan), where he is the warlord of Illusio with his partner Pokémon being Gallade and Mewtwo.

it's kind of a meme, although a very old one.

there are sengoku-era writings that allude to him being a woman, and seeing that he/she died childless people assume that to be the case

>tfw no indian qt 3.14

Them and Johan Laidoner are the prime anti-commies. There should be like a hall of fame for people like them.

much respect. the only ones to know of the true danger yet carry on regardless.

Also anti-Che Guevara who contributed to his failure in Congo. Mike Hoare led more men but he wasn't as fierce.

First responders didn't know the danger, I thought?

Perhaps you would not be a "weeb" if you didn't say shit like "Every last foe he faced was treated honorably, in a time where life was cheap and cut down as frequently as tufts of rice."

No but the good Soviet government presented them with a sweet commemorative badge for their trouble. They are so nice.

at first no, they were told just the same as everyone else, but after the first batch of people started falling drastically ill, they realized what was happening, while the rest of the country (and help supposed to be sent their way) was in the dark.

they then took matters into their own hands. they decided the best courses of action were to get as much of the radioactive material off of the roof as possible, directly exposing themselves (it's been found that the measures they took to shield themselves with the materials at hand were basically negligible), as well as digging a tunnel into the subterranean layer. by the time help arrived to actually encase the reactor with the 'sheath', most of the initial teams were bedridden.

They deserved

Faggots.

I AINT WEARING THOSE SHORTS!

Patton was a literally who during WW2 and didn't participate in any major battles against Germany. The Wehrmacht didn't know he existed until the war was over.
The only two things he was famous for in his own country were his speech and bitchslapping a soldier with PTSD.

As said.

Patton's name and glory are historical revisionism bought about by that bloody movie with George Scott in it. Before then it was Omar Bradley and Creighton Abrams who were known as the real heroes of WW2 along with Eisenhower of course.

He wasn't unknown. He even visited nazi mines with Ike and Bradley.

>American General visiting his superiors
In what way does that make him known among the enemies?

...

Probably why he kept fucking LOSING.

dont talk shit about my hero-fu

Especially those divers.

not polish myself but this is hilarious
>be polish noble
>meet that guy lenin on your "trip" to siberia
>join gommies
>after october revolution become his right hand
>your efforts and contributions to red terror result in thousands if not millions of dead russians
>but they still view you as some national hero and build monuments to honor you even today

Russians like "strong leaders" apparently also mass murderers.

Here his facial features look so much different. Must be the skin on his neck.

But this pic of him is 10/10 especially if you know the context.

>communist nigger terrorist who personally turned SA into a shithole
kys

That seems most likely

imagine all the soldiers in the thread serving in one platoon

The shield of Rome deserves more respect.

every Russian leader was a mass murderer except 1

based gorbachev

Maybe not a "hero" in the common sense of the word, but certainly a great man, and a huge source of inspiration.

Fun fact:
Despite the popular version of the story, all three of them lived. There's a few interviews from around 2015 on youtube, but most info about them is in ukranian or Russian, so it's really hard to find anything.

Not entirely, but they knew that things had gone very tits up and they were going to be exposed to radiation.

this
>below average commander
>ahead of his time in military theory
>hardheaded and a cunt according to everyone
>totally dedicated his nation and saved it twice
>retained independence of his nation and kept it at least somewhat relevant on the world stage

disagree, in my view he seemed somewhat disinterested in his country honestly. he was an old man dug up as a figurehead.

yes, especially the divers

Amundsen was a massive asshole

>Born in Belarus

This. Guy literally saved the world, or at least the northern hemisphere.

Every man could have been a king...

...

...

So? Arafat was born in Cairo.

There's just something so tragic about him.

Walther Wenck, the one who had his men dig the escape route for many many thousands of civilians from the Battle of Berlin

>t.Hjalmar Johansen
No but seriously though, yes, he was a dick, but that does not take away from his achievements.

Like all great polar explorers from the heroic age. Scott, Shackleton, Mawson. Amundsen won it all though.
>First through the Northwest Passage
>First in the South
>First in the North (most likely)

>ahead of his time in military theory

He really enjoyed his time during the Polish-Bolshevik war and learned the value of offensive strategy as this war was basically a dynamic WWI.
