Is World War II the defining event of The last 500 years?
How will people 1000 years from now remember people like Hitler?

No, that's the French Revolution. With sufficient time, Hitler will be seen as a footnote to the French Revolution.

Hitler will be seen as the great martyr and put in the same ranks as Julius Cesar and Napoleon.

>How will people 1000 years from now remember people like Hitler?
Hitler will be seen as the perfect example for the corrupt white leader, ww2 as the last struggle of white empires before the prosperity that came with asian millennial

Well he did die to create Israel

Same category as Vlad the impaler

I suspect Hitler will occupy a large but ambiguous role in the zeitgeist. He's admired by Germanic nationalists, Islamists, even some right wing Hindus. He won't be forgotten but his relevance and memory will be defined by the societies that are dominant in 1000 years.
He's a god for the anti-Semite, and I very much doubt that will go out of fashion, he and his nations did shockingly well considering the odds.

Leftists and Francboos actually believe this.
Why?
If people want to trace the roots of liberal democracies overthrowing monarchies they'll be more interested with the American Revolution or even the English Civil war.
The French Revolution was of monumental relevance to the late 18th/ early 19th century because France was probably the most powerful country in the world, that ceased to be true most certainly by 1815 at the latest.
Now France is maybe 5th? in terms of influence (current and historical)

The last 500 years has been defined, not by events, but by scientific and technological progress.

WW1 is the defining event much more than WW2.

>why?
Because it's the basis of all modern political conflicts. Even when you teach a class of Americans about American intellectual history, they try lining up figures in the American revolution into a political 'left' and 'right'. They are literally lost on any issues beyond slavery until the 20th century. The biggest change in recent popular history has been attempting to claim Hamilton as a man of the left.

Nobody bothers trying to group the factions of Weimar politics into federalist and antifederalists, much less charting them in relation to Cromwell.

You can perfectly understand Hitler without knowledge of the English civil war or the American revolution, you can't understand him without the spread of political nationalism with the French Revolution, it's repression and resurgence in 1848, and it's appropriation by the political right, and the development of socialism.

People will see him as a figure of his time, the last gasp of European hegemony, and as "just some guy".

>people
>1000 years
hardly

The few scattered people wont know a damn thing about history.

This. If humanity is still alive in 1000 years it will be in either Martian colonies or small secluded islands in the pacific. Every major piece of land will have gone through nuclear winter and genocide

There will never be a nuclear war, but pretty soon we will run out of resources like food and water for all the people

Which will lead to a nuclear war. Literally Billions of niggers and sandniggers will try to immigrate to Europe and the US. We will have to choice but to launch nukes at them. Israel obviously has a doomsday device which will go off after we drop nukes on the middle east which will then destroy all civilization.

>There will never be a nuclear war

Why would you think that. Israel needs one if they are to survive in the middle east.

World War 2 is already irrelevant.

> We will have to choice but to launch nukes at them

>The billions of shitskins will peacefully agree to your demands to stop invading

Could leftists be any more retarded?

Like how Nero is hated

This

>nuclear war! teehee!
Could you be more retarded?

How did you even find your way to Veeky Forums? Shouldn't you be on /b/?

Failed overambitious conqueror who in the end destroyed his country.

Imagine being this brainwahsed

Like Napoleon - a great hero that just came short of achieving his aims.

>He believes nuclear winter is a real thing

Can't tell if samefag or if Veeky Forums is really full of this many retards

Well this could've been an interesting thread if not for /pol/ shitposting

Spotted the stormfag.

Like we see Genghis Khan now: as an extremely brutal dictator, although most people wouldn't be able to name any specifics on his reign

...

Came here to post this

>How will people 1000 years from now remember people like Hitler?

As a guy who not only VOMITED, but occasionally POOPED his PANTS!!!

Nuclear winter is legitimately not a thing.

LEL EPIC POST BRUDDAH

(((The Jew York Times)))

Another Attila the Hun.

Remember him like the cuck he was

>How will people 1000 years from now remember people like Hitler?
It depends on how strong a hold over culture the Jews have in 1000 years. Assuming there are still Jews in 1000 years time of course.

the only real comparison is that they both rose from obscurity in tumultuous times to become supreme leaders, and they both defeated themselves by invading russia

...

It's Veeky Forums what do you think?

Expect in one hand shit in the other....

I think it after the encounter between Europeans and natives of north and south america, world war II was easily the most defining event.

I think in the future he will be looked at with far more respect and understanding then he is today. People or waking up to the realities of that war.

>I think in the future he will be looked at with far more respect and understanding then he is today. People or waking up to the realities of that war.
explain

a tactical genius

>ny times
no thanks bud

Well for one i don't think he intended for the holocaust to happen, and i think the number of people that died during the holocaust has been dramatically inflated. It happened, but the numbers have been inflated.

I also think people will come to admire is firm stance against the global power structure as he fought against 4 world superpowers for global dominance. He is essentially the modern day version Hannibal.

There are many admirable traits about the man, for why else would he be one of the most influential and fascinating historical figures of the past four to five hundred years?

He lost the war, thus making him evil.

This is

very nice post

But the French revolution did nothing but abolish a monarchy and replace it with a dictatorship. Explain yourselves.

Napoleon's code of law is the basis for basically all modern constitutions, and his conquest of all continental Europe spread the idea to peasants all over the continent, making sure they wouldn't just go back to being humble servants of their kings after that.

Hell, if i'm not mistaken, no king even had the balls to backpedal on the Napoleonic reforms done to their respective kingdoms.

Napoleon was only short of whipping Russia and slapping those tea sippers
Hitler couldnt even get his lebensraum

He stated his hatred for kikes and Veeky Forums has many times proven the fallaciousness of holocaust revisionism

...

t. Fedora

WW1, 2 and the cold war are more than likely just going to get grouped together into a single century spanning conflict like the french revolutionary wars and the 100 years war, since they are all directly related.

>revisionism

I see where your coming from, but there still are many admirable traits about the man and i have yet to see the order given by Hitler initiating the holocaust.

As for holocaust revisionism, i realize its not very appealing and looks bad on the individual arguing against people perched on the moral high ground, but i really do believe the numbers have been inflated.

Him hating jews doesn't mean the holocaust wasn't exaggerated.

Besides a lot of the things Nazi Germany did were things that other countries were thinking of doing and never got around to because of, well, Hittler.

>How will people 1000 years from now remember people like Hitler?
As the guy whose "1,000 year Reich" lasted 12 years?

They'll think about as much of him as we do about Tamerlane or Dionysius II of Syracus. The unfortunate implication being that it'll be some other tyrant in the future whom everyone will stereotype as the quintessential evil, as memories of WWII fade further and further into the background

Nice post

He looks like he's about to throw up in this picture.

He really did get SICK AS A DOG on more than one occasion:
m.youtube.com/watch?v=hFi2icrBRJI

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuulk!

Spotted the kike, back in the oven.

He was a teetotaler but he still managed to have moments like this:
m.youtube.com/watch?v=Npp02NqRkR4

...

This should not be the best show in town for Hitler vomiting:

m.youtube.com/watch?v=qOiyoJUT2vA

I wonder if he ever tripled himself?

m.youtube.com/watch?v=c-8ZNYfYJX0

I'll bet he did!

Right now the memory is still too vivid to look neutrally at things. Give it a few decades and people will look at Hitler from a less emotional perspective. Also, it should be considered that East Asia is going to become more important and they have no emotional connection to the European theatre. Perhaps it's going to take a Chinese or Indian scholar to teach the West something they don't yet know or touch a thesis that nobody in the west dare touch.

You could give the orders to holokraut kikes verbally you know, just like how gang leaders order murders.

>"ayo hol up i dindhu nuffin show me the paper i signed 4 dat murder you raycist white people"

Give it a few years and you will too.

Neither nor. The Industrial revolution is the defining point and it is a huge one, biggest since the neolithic revolution.

This is true. People fail to realize that Hitler didn't really change that much in the long run, the world was gearing up for a showdown between the USSR and the western powers for quite some time before WW2, Hitler just managed to temporarily halt that clash for a few years.
>but muh dead people
Not really relevant.
