The owner doesn't give a shit. The mods don't give a shit. There is no indication that anything is ever going to be done to enforce these particular rules. This is what they want this site to be. It's all /pol/ now. Except maybe the porn boards.

There are multiple threads every day that are entirely about current politics or solely about political abstractions. Completely ignoring the 25-year rule. I'm not even counting the thinly-veiled ones that make some mention about history but are really only about the same 3 political topics anyway.

The issue isn't controversy. The issue is the blatant spamming of off-topic threads and posts.

I don't even report most of the threads I know are not really Veeky Forums-related, specifically because I believe wide latitude should be given. But latitude isn't the same as allowing things which are expressly forbidden by the rules. Ex.: there was a thread not long ago asking what the best means forwarde on gun control is. Had nothing to do with white nationalism or pepe or "we wuz" or any of the other shit that gets spammed here constantly. But it was blatantly and specifically a political and not a historical thread.

Not that I don't think that perpetual bell curve threads are Veeky Forums-related (they're not), but surely everyone can agree that that's specifically a /pol/, and not a Veeky Forums concern.

Need janitors to try and enforce the rules about modern politics or their contemporary consequences/consider banning holocaust threads and alt history threads.

Need to consider making humanities their own board or just making a board for political philosophy (other than /pol/ because they clearly don't want to use that)

A lot of this could just be circumvented if people went to /pol/ and /leftypol/ to circlejerk their ideologies. But their shitty threads and inability to rationally discuss a subject fucked up their board and now they're doing it here too. This needs to stop.

The thing about Veeky Forums is not that it is supposedly filled with hardcore leftists (they do exist to some extent) but that many want it to simply be a board about a hobby and nothing more, a Veeky Forums with more armor threads.
They just want "epic" memes, coloring maps, role-playing and treat history as nothing more than source material for their fantasies. That's why they lash out against more serious topics, controversial subjects and generally against things that may have an impact on the real world. Not because they're "Nazi" or "Commie" (most of the time they aren't) but because it's about the real things they desperately want to get away from. (ew, icky stuff!!! gback2whatever)

It's also because discussing these subjects actually requires some knowledge of history, a bit of research, providing sources and making good arguments.
