What happened in the last 35 years that made China (and India to a lesser extent) have an explosive economic growth?

they became factories of the whole goddamn planet, are you seriously not aware of this?

>they became factories of the whole goddamn planet, are you seriously not aware of this?
That's it? That's all it took?

They liberalised

Investment lol isn't that kinda obvious?

>They liberalised
China and India about as Liberal as my left toe so no.

*They liberalised more than they were

Opening themselves up to trade obviously had a massive impact

Well considering all it took for Europe to control nearly the whole world was building factories, shit's pretty powerful yo

A small increase in GDP per person will lead to a huge explosion of total GDP if you compare it directly with other countries due to the high population of India and China.
Plus it's easier to have a strong growth if you're shit compared to if you're already an extremely rich country. (If you're a college student with a total net worth of a hundred dollar and you get your first job you will quickly manifold your wealth).

It's mostly the wealth of individuals and foreign companies though. I doubt that the wealth and standard of living really improved a lot for the average guy.

Capitalism, as in actual $1 a day wages capitalism became impossible in western Europe and the usa so it simply moved to the east.

Yes, capitalism has moved hundreds of millions of people out of extreme poverty in china, thankyou for pointing that out

Go live in China or India then. Much prosperity!

Yeah you turned the average Chinese and Indian from being a subsistence farmer, to a sweatshop worker. Where the working conditions are so awful people literally commit suicide in droves just to escape that hell. People now have more Benjamins though so lol.

China's rich as fuck to live in man.

>work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, room the size of a prison cell, 2$ a day
>thousands of people lose their well payed jobs in the west
Thank you based capitalism for improving everyone's life.
Why do people defend capitalism so blindly, it's a good system but it has many faults and it needs to be regulated.
One of the most basic ideas of capitalism is that you can gain something with hard work. These people do monotone work and they have no chance to achieve anything, their pay is as low as possible and they have no other option but to work for those companies.
You should look up some of Adam Smith less famous quotes. He was also arguing for a moral capitalism.

Globalism and outsourcing from the West

>''Capitalism is the best system, but it only works when others aren't more competative then me"

This is the problem with you capcucks, everytime you get out competed you make arbitrary restrictions to your version of capitalism. Just like the commies and their "that isn't real communism." I'm sick of listening to capitalists complaining of how hard it is to start a business w/o taking on a ton of risk or how people overseas are willing to work for less or how its impossible to compete with big corps like Walmart. Welcome to Capitalism dipshit. Its literally the most cut-throat Darwinian philosophy there is. If you are going to support it don't whine about it. If you are going to ask for social regulation to "help you out" then stop shitting on socialists because they just had more foresight then you.

cheap labor

>>work 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, room the size of a prison cell, 2$ a day
>>thousands of people lose their well payed jobs in the west
The problem is, that you make these continual statements, believing it to be true, but it isn't.

The vast majority of Chinese and lesser but still so Indians, do not work in sweatshops. The sweatshop stage only lasts for a short time, the middle class in China is like what, 50% now?

In short, you repeat a century old meme and talk utter unfactual shit.

Capitalism doesn't exist, it's called competition.

What are you even talking? You don't have to accept an economic theory in it's purest form. There is more than CAPITALISM OR COMMUNISM.
I have never met a single person that was arguing pro communism, yet it's what people talk constantly about if you criticize capitalism in the slightest.

Capitalism is already heavily regulated in the western world, (weekends off, no child or slave labor, no dumping all your waste). The problem is that all those regulations are avoided by going "oversees".

>Its literally the most cut-throat Darwinian philosophy there is
>p.s. we'll cut your throat if you refuse to pay tax then refuse to cooperate with police when they come to arrest you for oppression evasion
>t. statist
