Can't find the wikipedia page but
>That one battle during the Italian invasion of France where 9 French soldiers held a bridge in the alps for 10 days against 5000 Italians

and they only surrendered cus they ran out of ammo for literally everything

What about the one where one side only like 8 guys died and the other side thousands

Whoops

Here you go

God bless you

...

Mussolini was really not kidding when he told Hitler that Italy couldn't fight a war until 1942

...

Holy fucking shit is that real ?

yes

Were the Italians so miserably incompetent or were the french really good at stubborn defense ? Do you have more material on this event ?

>300 men all drafted in the past week
>commanded by a pensioner
>using 50 year old weapons
>with no idea they're even being invaded
>against two of the most modern warships in the world
>inflict a crushing victory
>take literally zero casualties

Meant for you

and people said fortresses were obsolete

I don't care if it's a meme, it'll never not be funny.

I just want to say that they did a LITTLE better than that, killing nearly a thousand emu.

>Were the Italians so miserably incompetent or were the french really good at stubborn defense ?

Both
Italian commanders were retards who kept sending waves after waves of men at a fortified position, and the French defenders were resilient as fuck, fighting at nine against a whole army for more than a week (they had no food left on the last three days), even days after the armistice between France and Italy had been signed

classic

So did the French surrender?

>emus as nazis
>emus won more wars than nazis
full JUST mode

France surrendered to Germany and therfore an armistice was signed with Italy on June 25
The guys in the casemate had their radio destroyed (by a grenade that had been thrown in) so they didnt know about that until three days later
Then they indeed gave themselves in (but I don't doubt that, a so much braver guy like you would surely have kept fighting forever despite the fact the war was lost and the supplies had ran out)

France got JUSTed by England a lot in the first half of the 100 Years War

>R*mans

I love real-life stackwipes

Pretty sure they surrendered once they ran out of ammo

These are humiliating defeats in which the Brits heavilt outnumber the enemy btw
If you take every British defeat for the last 500 years, you easily have over 10,000 of them

I ummm... hmmm.

Japs are retarded at sea until the white boi taught them.

lol the french are bad at war because of some battles!

Protestants ruin everything

They were also pretty bad in ww2, even if they had a decent navy

no shit

There are good soldiers
There are bad soldiers
And then there are italians.

But that's what most people unironically believe, you know

>20,000-30,000 civilians were eaten
Every single time.

oh man the story behind that one is fucking great

>1 soup kettle, with presumably all the soup within
Is this the worst Dutch warcrime in history?

>20,000-30,000 civilians were eaten
I'm starting to see a trend in Chinese warfare.

Anyone knows the name of the battle where the French captured ships with a cavalry charge?

>The capture completed, the French conquest of the Netherlands was brought to an end and the French Army captured 14 warships, 850 guns, and several merchant ships.[9] It is one of the only times in recorded military history wherein cavalry captured a fleet,[10][11
