I think a lot of the pics from the second part are from Saudi Arabia and Palestine, though.

progress is neccisarily secular?

>Iranian wearing arabic kefiyeh
>Iranian wearing veil

I always love it when white people pull out these photos of women in miniskirts as if Islam is to blame and not Western imperialism.

>"Oh look, the Soviets just advanced women's rights! Let me ruin it all by funding and arming Islamic extremists and thirty years later still pretend that I have the moral high ground"

OP here can I get an actual response. I agree I may have chosen I poor image but I'm still interested in why it happened

It happened to protect the rights of women. As you can see from the first part of your image they are being sexualised and exploited. The men of the country rose up to protect their women by kicking out the exploitative shah and then institute islamic law.

Communist revolution was hijacked by islamists

>they just ended up going backwards

Go back 2 reddit, libtard Whig

Nice response faggot. Go back to /pol/ with your shitty answers

>the Soviets just advanced women's rights!

Why do you consider the rape and mass murder of hundreds of thousands of Afghan women by Soviet soldiers to be an advancement of women's rights?

>soviets
>iran

Did you pull it from your own ass, or picked up from someone else's

Iran before was ruled by the Shah who was a puppet of the US and was practically forced to make the country more modern and egalitarian. People rebelled against there puppet ruler and went back to there culture, ony more radicalized now because of the Cold War related founding of extremist groups.

Ask the experts, Trump.

Like the other user said, Soviets weren't in Iran, then. It was a pro-western dictator that pushed social liberal reforms.

>Why did the Iranian Revolution happen
Because people don't like having a puppet king in charge
>Seems like it was stupid because they just ended up going backwards
Now what makes you think that?

Why are you even here?

>a revolution which sends a country backward instead of forward

Say it ain't so!

And I love watching intersectional Islamic apologist commies work their magic. It's like an exotic dance.

The Shah was an American and Anglo puppet who let them take all the oils. Mosadegh wanted to nationalize it then the CIA removed him and kept le Shah (tm).

The people started to get asspained (tons of poverty outside Tehran) and to produce massive hemorroids le Shah decided to waste tons of monies in an expensive ceremony inviting european kangz, jewmerican politicians, etc.

Then Khomeini appeared as a contrarian figure to the Shah which gave him tons of support.

But why didn't USA support his beloved Shah? They believed that Khomenei, being religious, would be against USSR and therefore they just needed to let him take power to have a puppet supported by the people while they could keep jewing the country. So they supported him, gave some assistance, etc.

But when le mudslime boss took power he said fuck the West and fuck the USSR and the country isolated and started its own way.

JEWSA and the ANGLO BLOOD got asspained to this day and the islamic clerics took control of the country completely leading to today's situation.

Btw the burka women in your pic are from Saudi Arabia, not from Iran.

Tl;dr
Angloamerican interests, as always

>before
>bunch of degenerates with no regard for traditionq

>after
>drugs and impudicity baned

Looks like a huge step up desu. Also those pics are cherrypicked, and only the big cities were larping as westerners, the rest of the country was always traditionalist.

USA & UK were also largely responsible for the fall of the Shah, though it will take awhile for them to admit this. It was due to two factors:

1) The USA and UK became tired of the Shah because he was trying to become ringleader of OPEC and was hiking oil prices during a period of economic downturn in USA and UK. Since William E. Simon's petrodollar deal with Saudi Arabia in 1974, the USA and UK increasingly grew dissatisfied with the Shah, who Simon called a "nut". There are declassified CIA documents that call the Shah megalomaniac and had to have his power stripped.

"THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY HAS COMPILED A DISTURBING PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE OF THE SHAH OF IRAN, WHOM THE UNITED STATES IS BUILDING UP TO BE THE GUARDIAN OF ITS INTERESTS IN THE PERSIAN GULF. 3. THIS SECRET STUDY PORTRAYS THE SHAH AS A BRILLIANT BUT DANGEROUS MEGALOMANIAC, WHO IS LIKELY TO PURSUE HIS OWN AIMS IN DISREGARD OF U.S. INTERESTS. 4. ALREADY, HE HAS PUSHED HARDER THAN ANY OTHER OIL POTENTATE FOR STRATOSPHERIC OIL PRICES. YET SECRETARY OF STATE HENRY A. KISSINGER HAS OVERLOOKED THE ECONOMIC DAMAGE THIS UNCLASSIFIED"
wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/1975STATE163771_b.html

2) Near the end of the Shah's reign, he began improving the country, with the White Reforms, but by then it was too late in the eyes of Iranians who felt oppressed by his SAVAK forces. Many Iranians were beguiled by Utopian socialist ideals, and the UK recognized this. Using their propaganda outlet of BBC, they began giving Khomeini a platform and having his speeches play on radio for Iranians to grow more anti-Shah.

Carter backed Khomeini, calling him a saint, also, and it was a part of the Anglo-American hegemonic strategy to oust the Shah. Eventually Khomeini became rogue. Carter even sent 150 million USD to Khomeini's account to support him.

Most Iranians felt tricked.

>a bunch of shit Khomeini shit made up even the other mullahs considered heretical
>a religion that was only brought to our country only in the time of the Safavids
>a government that actively tried to ban or suppress actual Persian culture
Tradition, sure.

This is correct version. I'll never for the life of me understand westerners who parrot PressTV talking points. I know Israel and Arabs are shit but think about what you're actually saying for a second, ok?

Those are some pretty select photos there OP. I'm pretty sure the bottom set existed in Outer Bumfuck, Iran, year 1976 and today all the Persians I've ever met do their best to flout the rules whenever they're in Iran

>le muslim women used to dress like le western whores much progress so progressive!
seriously fuck off already

The Islamists were anti-communist in Afghanistan and overthrew a secular socialist state.

The thing is, though, the USA has began supporting the Marxist terrorists MEK/MKO/PMOI & NCRI (parent groups, all refers to same thing, People's Mujaheddin of Iran or National Council of Resistance of Iran). These guys are much, much worse than the current regime and have a history of being crazy cultists, involved in sexual scandals, gassing Iran's own people, and killing Americans. The USA and its allies are supporting them, even though they are hated by average Iranians, with the intent, most likely, to destabilize Iran and break it along ethnic lines in order to weaken its sphere of influence. Moreover, the USA and its allies probably want to secure routes to geostratically important areas, like South Pars Gas Condensate Field, for their own petrodollar interests, which is located in a province without many ethnic Persians.

Most people don't realize this, but the Syrian conflict was largely due Russian-backed Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline versus US-backed Qatar-Turkey pipeline, hence why USA supported ISIS in order to weaken Assad.

>hence why USA supported ISIS

Stop reading Russia Today.

This is a good article with sources explaining why People's Mujaheddin of Iran & National Council Resistance of Iran (parent groups) is bad:
http:/theintercept.com/2017/07/07/mek-iran-rajavi-cult-saudi-gingrich-terrorists-trump/

If you want to be more precise, then I would say USA supported unsavory rebels that are prone to switch sides, and it indirectly strengthened groups like ISIS and Al-Nusra. USA continued to do so also even when this plan was revealed as stupid.

Calm down, Ahmed.

They understood 70s fashion was terrible and must be destroyed no matter what the alternative.

Western "culture" is degenerate. It's a good thing they changed.

Makes sense it's the only way to get a revolution going for those idiots.

There are letters in the leaks mentioning funding to Al-Qaeda in Iraq and other fundamentalist groups. I mean America has backed mujahideens before.

The soviets were the first to recognize the Islamic revolutionary government in Iran, and immediately began arming and funding them, making them a valuable client state. I would not be surprised if the whole revolution was KGB inspired.

first i was like...but then i was like...

>a bunch of shit Khomeini shit made up even the other mullahs considered heretical
This.Guardianship of the jurist didn't extend to everyone before Khomeini. Ayatollah Al-sistani even says so.

Will you people ever learn to hide and block frogposters?
