Did Augustus ever speak or learn about Jesus? They were alive around the same time, but Augustus was in his 60s when Jesus was born and died at ~77 years of age.

propably not, but why dont you go ghost and ask him?

Did Augustus ever speak or learn about some random carpenter's son in Judea? I doubt it

Jesus did all his teaching in the reign of Tiberius. The highest authority Jesus ever encountered was Pilate

If I remember correctly, the first verified instance of a Roman emperor being aware of Christianity took place during the reign of Trajan.

Jesus was only around 18 when Augustus died. He never would have heard of Jesus nor had reason to.

Why would he care?
He ruled over an empire, why would he care about a little cult popping up in israel? There were probably hundreds of them back then and even more self proclaimed prophets around preaching love, gods wrath and everything in between.

That is if Jesus actually existed.

Why did he snub Jesus at his birth? Other kings came to pay their respects
Was it jealousy?

Why does he have a manlet holding onto him?

To remind us they will never learn

That's a cupid riding a dolphin.

No, I don't get it either.

It is implying he is divine, or at least descended from divinity.

Proof?

The letter exchanges between Trajan and Pliny, a provincial governor, are the first recorded instance of a Roman emperor discussing the topic of Christianity with another person. Pliny frequently wrote to Trajan for advice as to how to properly run the province, and Trajan usually replied, although the nature of communication at the time meant that there was a very long delay between question and response. One topic that Pliny asked about is specifically how he was supposed to deal with this new "Christian" cult that seems to be developing in his province. Trajan responded to this letter with instructions on how to deal with the situation, so he was verifiably aware of Christianity.

Why does everyone call Jesus a carpenter? He was a day laborer, like Paco in the Home Depot parking lot.

Yeah, he got a chance to see Jesus when he visited Hell before he resurrected

Yeah, m8, we all saw that one.

that would be Nero, scapegoating Christians for the great fire of Rome in 64 AD, having them rounded up and murdered in public spectacle in order to draw attention away from the fact that he was trying to build his "Golden palace" right over what was once Rome's most prized real estate. There's also numismatic evidence that Nero had the wholly unenviable task of having to fight deflation, which means that Romans were in a really shitty mood even before a fire came along and took everything from them, which is probably why they weren't buying Nero's bullshit.

Oh, Jesus existed - having documents with Roman Authorities declaring themselves innocent of the blood of someone they called "King of Jews" is not some lighthearted document dreamed up by some no-name Jewish street peddler.

>The highest authority Jesus ever encountered was Pilate

Jesus' authority is higher than Pilate's - Pilate recognizes this.

Confusion over the word Tektōn

Why would he care about some random jew in the middle east?

Yeah, he's JUST the son of God lmao why would anybody care?

lmao muh anthropomorphic god, muh jewish demigod son

>having documents with Roman Authorities declaring themselves innocent of the blood of someone they called "King of Jews"
give source

What the fuck did you just say about my God, you little bitch

He wasn't a king and he was pretty serious about that for all his life. He also technically wasn't a monarch, at least if you can say that Kim Il Sung wasn't a monarch.
