not exactly historical, but Jephthah from Judges in the bible. I wouldn't be surprised if more than just the child sacrifice was inspired by this story

William of Orange

Harald Bluetooth

Charles XII.

In terms of the whole religion conversion thing and losing his army you got it on the dot but not really quite a match

>Thinks power is their right
But exactly the opposite is true for Stannis.
He learned he should earn the right to rule, that's why he went to relieve the wall.
It was kinda a vital part of his arc.

you need to go back

fair enough, this was just a quick question though. didn't think hard about it

Were there any Jon Snow tier figures in history?

I don't know about Stannis but I'm pretty sure Tywin Lannister was inspired by Edward I.

GRRM said he's based on Tiberius

Henry VIII

no, plot armor doesnt exist in real life

>follows strange religion
Julian the Apostate?

Was banging your cousin considered ok in medieval times?

for marriage consanguinity an issue.

> t. b
utthurt Spaniard

Donald Trump.

Ungern von Sternberg

Other than following a kooky religion I don't really see the parallel.

Racial monument

Such wonderful man cannot be real

Spanish Kings and Aztec kings

You didn't even describe Stannis well. Stannis is obsessive of justice, not power. He believed he was the rightful heir to the throne (and he was), but he wasn't power-hungry. Renly was the one who tried to usurp the throne.

>obsessive of justice, not power
the show never has him give anyone a trial, pass any laws, litsen to anyone who hasnt personally licked his ass for him when he couldnt do it himself, and was said to be a tyrant by the Gods themselves while Ned was in jail.

stopped reading right there

Aurelian

>Strong military leader
>Took power by force
>worshiped a strange eastern religion

Why would a spaniard know who is william of orange or that he banged his cousin? I'm a spaniard and I needed to google it.

He wasn't that powerhungry. The local elite in the Netherlands requested he became their new king after the dutch revolt kicked off, but he declined.

I absolutely love how they changed the font of the show part to comic sans. Made laugh for some reason.

That makes sense. It is said Tiberius religiously followed the advice of some astrologer.

it would not be that hard to convice me that is the font that dnd use in the script writings.

Both sounds like shit. And they are.

Book Jon Snow is Julius Caesar. Show is Gary Stu.

>Edward I

Tywin, parts of Cersei's story, and Robert Baratheon also seem to me to be based on Louis the Fair, Isabella of France, and Robert Artois from the Accursed Kings series/ history.

>Cersei=Margret of Anjou
A lil Mary Queen of Scots, yes?
