no

He think some presidents are still decent in terms of philosophical value.

>Who was the last "philosopher king"?

I CURRENTLY IGNORE WHO IS THE LATEST "PHILOSOPHER KING"; IT IS SOMETHING THAT REQUIRES RESEARCH, BUT IT IS CERTAIN THAT AKHNATON WAS THE FIRST ONE.

>Did it even exist in the first place?

YES.

Alexander was the first and the last, as in so many things

>Alexander
>a philosopher

Alexander is known for many things. Philosophy isn't one of them.

HIM Dom Pedro II

>untie this knot
>butcher it with my sword "ima genius"

Unironically, Hitler.

>Did it even exist in the first place?
no

ADOLF HITLER WAS AN "ARTIST KING", NOT A "PHILOSOPHER KING".

Ironically enough most of the Socialist Dictators were voracious readers who actually wrote on it and provided insight in philosophical matters.

Not exactly philosopher kings but interesting enough

1. HOW IS IT IRONIC THAT MOST SOCIALIST DICTATORS HAVE BEEN AVID READERS OF LITERATURE?

2. BY ATTACHING AN IMAGE OF VLADIMIR LENIN, ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT HE WAS A SOCIALIST DICTATOR? IF SO, YOU ARE IN ERROR; VLADIMIR LENIN WAS A COMMUNISM, AND THERE IS NOTHING SOCIALISTIC IN COMMUNISM.

>... VLADIMIR LENIN WAS A [COMMUNIST]...

>VLADIMIR LENIN WAS A COMMUNISM
Fucking spic potato English. Fuck off spic.

Akhnaton was a megalomania cunt and a madman

>Make typo
>"durr potatoe inglich!"

Are you being paid to shitpost, or is your life so pathetic that this is what you consider "fun"?

>there is nothing socialistic in communism
Neck yourself

t. spic sockpuppeting
You're not fooling anyone Jose.

Julian is the true last "philosopher" king. He has some neo-platonic works.

Leo Sophos, aka Leo 6th can also be a candidate although his writings are mostly legal-statesmanship based so not a philosopher per se.

>Inheriting an Empire on the verge of disintegration, Pedro II turned Portuguese-speaking Brazil into an emerging power in the international arena. The nation grew to be distinguished from its Hispanic neighbors on account of its political stability, zealously guarded freedom of speech, respect for civil rights, vibrant economic growth and especially for its form of government: a functional, representative parliamentary monarchy.

>A savant in his own right, the Emperor established a reputation as a vigorous sponsor of learning, culture and the sciences. He won the respect and admiration of scholars such as Charles Darwin, Victor Hugo and Friedrich Nietzsche, and was a friend to Richard Wagner, Louis Pasteur and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, among others.

What else do you want? Philosopher king right there.

unironically the Ayatollah Khomeini

Pedro was at the World's Fair where Alexander G. Bell first deputed the telephone. Pedro immediately recognized Bell because they'd met before, and he went absolutely nuts with joy when he realized what his old friend had invented.

>1. HOW IS IT IRONIC THAT MOST SOCIALIST DICTATORS HAVE BEEN AVID READERS OF LITERATURE?

The " who actually wrote on it and provided insight in philosophical matters" was the more important part of that sentence.

That said its ironic that an ideology revolving around a class of people held up as the opposite of philosophers was lead by one. Much like an army of knights being lead by a peasant would be ironic.

>ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT HE WAS A SOCIALIST DICTATOR? IF SO, YOU ARE IN ERROR; VLADIMIR LENIN WAS A COMMUNISM, AND THERE IS NOTHING SOCIALISTIC IN COMMUNISM.

I was using his own terminology - he was a dictator of the transitional period between capitalism and communism which Marxists label as socialism.

He truly was something else

> A passion for linguistics prompted him throughout his life to study new languages, and he was able to speak and write not only Portuguese but also Latin, French, German, English, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Sanskrit, Chinese, Occitan and Tupi.

>That said its ironic that an ideology revolving around a class of people held up as the opposite of philosophers was lead by one.

THEN YOU MEAN "COMMUNIST DICTATORS", NOT "SOCIALIST DICTATORS"; SOCIALISM IS AN ECONOMIC SYSTEM, NOT AN IDEOLOGY, AND SOCIALISTS ARE NOT, NOR ARE THEY PURPORTED TO BE, ANTITHETICAL TO/THE OPPOSITE OF PHILOSOPHERS.

>I was using his own terminology...

AH.

The Maurya monarchs
1. Chandragupta Maurya.
2. BimbiSara Maurya.
3. Ashoka the great.
And a lot in this part of the world.

That's 15 fucking languages. What the hell.

Frederick II

Anyone who forms an Empire that doesnt crumble during their rule. Oddly, Alexander wasn't one because he didn't have any new ideas. Whereas the Spanish emperors and Genghis Khan were

He was neither a king nor a Philosopher

This is the real answere

DO YOU EAT SHIT OR ARE YOU FULL OF IT

Not king per se but emperor.

Kublai is called such as he was keen on philosophies around the world. From Confucious, Daoist, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Jews, Manichean, to Hindu, etc

He would even hold live debate competition for them.

was he the guy that said fuck all the gods, let's pray to the sun instead?

Please leave, pol.

Philosopher King does not mean a King who writes about philosophy.
If Sartre somehow became King of France, Plato would still not consider him a Philosopher King. Louis IX was more of a philosopher king than Bertrand Russell would be if he became King of England.

> AH.
