Why did communism fail?

It's pretty safe to say communism is pretty much dead today but why did it fail? What are the differences between capitalism & communism that made the former so much more successful?

capitalism did generate more material wealth, consumer goods and spread of technology

Compared to the US, Russia and China had entirely different starting conditions considering it's economy. Communism at that time wasn't feasible or sustainable. Corruption didn't help it along either and with Russia, Boris Jelzin contributed a lot to the downfall of communistic principles. I'm not sure if communism would work in today's times but back then, it was a great challenge that in the end was destined to fail.

Cuba is still Communist/Socialist, and has one of the highest literacy rates in the world, as well as excellent medical services available to the population.

...

But compared to the US and Europe it's a shithole. The little communist countries left are rapidly becoming capitalist, even Cuba.

it's also a piss poor shithole full of crime

Communism only works for post industrial societies

and their main hobby is making rafts to sail the florida straits

And it wouldn't be if constant economic sanctions didn't constantly grind their economy to dust. For what little they have in material wealth, they do an amazing job survivng.
>But compared to the US and Europe it's a shithole
Cuba has a lower infant mortality rate than the US and a lot of countries in Europe.

capitalism = competition, decentralization
communism = no competition, shitty centralization

>communism
>ever working

>communism can only survive through trade with rich capitalist countries
If communism is so good why do capitalist countries NEED to give them shit.

>muh sanctions are totally not the product of the system
are you even looking at the words you're typing you absolute moron

Cuban "communist" turned cuba in a tourist island with an american military base.

>Decide to produce a certain amount of crops
>Fuck up because you did not allocate enough trqnsporting resources for crop transport
>Now the crops rot in a storage somewhere
>People are hungry because they do not get enough food.
>Also they have no shoes because you miscalculated the need for those so not enough pairs were produced

VS

>People want food -> Demand
>Farmers want to sell their food ->Supply
>Also there is a demand for transport so some entrepreneur will provide it
>Also people want shoes so those will too be produced to meet the demand
>System just werkz because it is not administrated by some idiots who got their position by kissing the current dictators ass.

Most infant mortality in the west is due to birth defects and premature births which are mostly unpreventable. The US has a way higher population than Cuba so naturally the infant mortality rate will be higher.

because people keep jumping the gun rather than reading what Marx actually said. You cannot have Communism until capital is so successful that it makes itself redundant

>because people keep jumping the gun rather than reading what Marx actually said.

But this is what Marx acutally said user.

>For what little they have in material wealth, they do an amazing job survivng

This like summarizes communism as a whole. The people survive, yet they don't live

I'm not sure how that's relevant to what I said

except when you're taken to labor camps
or just killed because you're a dissident
or taken to some factory to become a menial worker when you're actually a doctor because the commies want don't want you to keep your position
you fucking numales should be banned from talking about communism if you haven't experienced it

are you intentionally being retarded?

It's important to note that Marx died denouncing communism. He indeed died a capitalist

imagine I am, state your argument clearly

Communists always mention that people were employed, had universal healthcare & high literacy but what they neglect is that they generally lived shitty lives living at the bare minimum.

i'm not the person you were arguing with
if i can see the point then so can you
if you can't stop arguing

Not him but what the fuck is wrong with you? Are you on drugs?

not an argument

Lern 2 context, you fucking retard. I bet you voted for Bernie Panders

By surviving, I mean just that. And it's meant to summarize the populace as a whole
Living = enjoying life

That's pretty easy if the US as one of the biggest economies on the planet just places down trade embargos on every socialist/communist country.

I see no contradiction between having an armed populace and not having a a revolution

Yugoslavs had a generally decent living standard, but were basically living off Western loans. The unemployment was only artificially solved by having the unemployed work as guest workers in Germany.

>I bet you voted for Bernie Panders
i literally told you i experienced communism first hand you stupid fucking moron
why the fuck would you assume i'm from the us
also
>what is killing most dissidents
>what is gulag
>what is completely fucked infrastructure, agriculture etc..

>he's asking them to be armed for the sake of being armed not totally something else that everyone who isn't a biased retard would see immediately

2nd amendment

>Marx witnesses the massacres of unarmed workers during the 1848 revolt
>Calls for workers to arm themselves against tyranny

it oversimplifies things

>capitalism is the cause of all ills

its proposed solution is then the complete opposite of what you should do

>centralize power under the state which we assume will work in the interests of the people because they are good communists and we asked them nicely

not the us you moron

>Calls for workers to arm themselves against tyranny
>he will fight tyrant by definitely not instating a new government once an armed revolt takes place
>like for realzies the guns are for just staying home and shit believe me my dude

>tyrant
tyranny*

You mean, the only way communist countries can survive is through the practice of capitalist ideals such as trading with capitalist countries

Communism is one of the biggest lies in all of history

It's based on the crappy assumption that people are completely happy and fulfilled with equal material.

You are a fucking retard. Can't blame you, it's your third world education.

not an argument

>Alienation is a systemic result of Capitalism therefore Class Struggle is inevitable

Yeah, and vegetables are a luxury

>Alienation is a systemic result of Capitalism
>it's true because i said it's true
not an argument

literally says that after after the Bourgeoisie finish their revolution they will turn on the workers who should arm themselves to protect against the new tyrants

To be able forcefully and threateningly to oppose this party, whose betrayal of the workers will begin with the very first hour of victory, the workers must be armed and organized. The whole proletariat must be armed at once with muskets, rifles, cannon and ammunition, and the revival of the old-style citizens’ militia, directed against the workers, must be opposed. Where the formation of this militia cannot be prevented, the workers must try to organize themselves independently as a proletarian guard, with elected leaders and with their own elected general staff; they must try to place themselves not under the orders of the state authority but of the revolutionary local councils set up by the workers. Where the workers are employed by the state, they must arm and organize themselves into special corps with elected leaders, or as a part of the proletarian guard. Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary. The destruction of the bourgeois democrats’ influence over the workers, and the enforcement of conditions which will compromise the rule of bourgeois democracy, which is for the moment inevitable, and make it as difficult as possible – these are the main points which the proletariat and therefore the League must keep in mind during and after the approaching uprising.

Capitalism never serves humanity it only serves big business and therefore it will always be the enemy of mankind.

kys?

stop moving goalposts
the argument was about whether marx was instigating violence by telling the working class to be armed
not whatever retarded shit you were arguing about

it's almost like he read the US Constitution and thought "oh hey 2nd amendment that's quite a good idea"

>Capitalism never serves humanity it only serves big business and therefore it will always be the enemy of mankind
no argument
you just made a statement
i can make one as well
Buddhism never serves humanity it only serves big buddists and therefore it will always be the enemy of mankind

Capitalism is in tune with the working man while Communism is spearheaded by out of touch """intellectuals"""

Consider Mao's idea to increase steel production by building a furnace in every Chinese backyard. It took him a year after it had been implemented to actually ask a peasant labourer if it would work, and he kept it going another year after that because he didn't want to embarrass himself by admitting that it didn't work.

Imagine being forced at gunpoint to dump all your crockery into a blast furnace and use your crops as fuel, dying of starvation because some pudgy imbecile a hundred miles away didn't want to admit he was wrong about something.

>was he instigating violence
only in the same way the 2nd amendment does,

Capitalists are motivated solely by profit though they pay politicians to convince us that they have the welfare of the whole of society at heart

Equality of outcome is impossible.

factually inaccurate
the second amendment is legislation allowing people to bear arms
marx's quote is a call to arms against the current government

...

no it's a call for worker to protect themeselves against a post revolutionary government that at the time of the address did't even exist

lmao my dude communism won bro.
America is a communist country read some moldbug my dude

>I see no contradiction between having an armed populace and not having a a revolution

Marx neither.

...

Because it's a failed theory and ideology. Nothing within communist theory works in real life.

There's a much better economic system known as capitalism.

it still isn't calling for a revolution

Indeed, Marx wanted a revolution of love and friendship.
