nice larp

Will buy the key for 1 eth

you know what data recovery is?

>don't know the difference between formatting and erasing

Please don't use a computer anymore. Let that thing to young people.

sue Microsoft
they went full retard with 10

windows doesn't automatically format flash drives you dumbfuck

once the partition table is destroyed it may as well be erased

Assuming you're not just talking shit, try Recuva, I'm not sure how it is with ext4. If that doesn't work pay a professional to recover your data.

that's what I am going to do, praying it is still recoverable

not at all.

Plenty of free software let you access your data from a "formatted" disk.

profesional data recovery shouldnt be less then around 1000 usd for a usb stick tops. you are spastic if you dont get that shit back. suck my balls op for your gay ass rp.

Post proof this is not a LARP.

lol boi just pay a professional
dont even dare to recover it yourself and by professional i mean a real company or tech genius

spare btc wise whale lend me your wisdom to achieve mighty cryptogainz so I can stunt on all the faggots all the switch up niggaz
Send some BTC for the real ones get together and make it

why not? dudes going to jump out of a window.

this

so many criminals have been caught for different shit just because they thought shit was deleted just because they smashed the drive w/ a hammer or just deleted the files

Fuck you idiot.

So instead of finding a better way he decided to just light himself on fire and burn to death with a bunch of broken bones?
I can kinda see how this would make sense to Veeky Forums

except Hillary.

try testdisk

he's dead though you dumb truck. what he did worked. get your assburgers in check. you don't have to argue about everything.
>jk i know you do.

OP, if this is serious, contact me on discord at Stellarain#1940 and I'll see if I can help you.

Why light himself on fire if he's already dead?

kek, should've used Linux...

Have 2600 Ether bought at $4 in a wallet that I have no idea what the Password is.

At least he went out in a badass way

...

Because it's hot.

I may. Thank you for the offer. I'm just trying to find out what my options are now in the scramble.

ouch, my condolences

I don't think there's any wisdom. I was an early adopter and bought those coins for nothing. I'm not a math genius or anything, only a bit above avg iq. Ask a trading genius that writes algorithms, not me.

a quick format doesnt destroy the data, just the files. if its a wallet from 2010 i dont beliebe they had encryption let for wallets, so you should be able to use any recovery software to take a complete data dump of the whole drive and then scan through it all for the wallet file.

worst comes to worst you can just scan through every 32 byte window or however large bitcoin keys are, and check each one for a bitcoin balance.

whatever you do through dont plug the drive into anything until youre ready to make the dump of its contents, even better put it in read only mode if you can. anything written to it has a high chance of overwriting your keys.

Just run a chkdsk on it OP

yeah I think I'm going to use my linux laptop and do a raw dump, and like you said, search the hex for something

then again, I don't know if I trust myself

Thanks. I had to spend a couple of days in a hospital when I realized I have a million dollar wallet. Nobody understands this shit. They think you can call Mr. Ether and request a new password and your good. My doctor said I should visualize the wallet as a dream or a fantasy and that it doesn't really exist. I prefer to think I'm just fucked from birth and that God hates me.

you dont have to, make sure your linux doesnt automatically mount things, then plug it in and mount it read only

then use dd or some other tool to make a dump of the entire drive, and search github for wallet recovery scripts, just make sure you keep your linux laptop offline the entire time so you dont accidently download some malware script that sends your keys off to russia

>windows 10
Found you problem.
Install Gentoo.

What I would consider doing is on my Gentoo box use dd to make an image of the drive then loopback mount that image and not mess with the original drive.

Also, before you fuck things up further, get a block-level image of that drive with something like GNU ddrescue and do your recovery stuff on that image. Have another backup of that image, too.

If recuva doesn't give you results, you can try ufs explorer, too. It has free trial to boot so you can see if there's any hope before plunking down cash. I can attest from a personal experiment it does work like charm on ext4fs.

Then with a copied image I would start researching stuff like this.

that's kind of how I feel, I am losing it. these people think you can just call god and he'll give you back your stuff, I will try my hardest to get it back but IDK if I can

I have a laptop with debian on it, used to run gentoo years ago. I shouldn't have put it in the wangblows box, fucking critical error.

>use dd or some other tool to make a dump of the entire drive

Listen to these anons they know what's up, especially the 2nd making a copy of the image.

I've never used this before but next I would research this and after studying it I would experiment on a copy of the image and if it damages the copy of the image that's fine it's just a copy of the image of the original drive.

I'll get it back for 1btc. Easy.

why would someone shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane?

OP, most important thing is now for you to calm down. Then, make a full disk image of that drive with dd (or ddrescue) or something to that effect. If you use dd or ddrescue, FFS MAKE SURE YOU SET IF AND OF PARAMETERS CORRECTLY. Then calm down some more and make sure you have the backup of your recovery image on a safe place and start looking at the copy backup with testdisk, recuva, ufs explorer rtc....

Seconding recuva, I've found it very effective. But sounds like the cleverest idea.

i'm pretty sure that windows ask you BEFORE formating. nice larp

Also, if you want to give a little tip after you save those bitcoins, here's a good place for that: 1AtSVM7njMuxc6PZqUy6Gz8bofPHB2Joi7

;)

>>windows 10 automatically formatted it when I inserted it
bullshit, windows always has a prompt that asks to format disk or cancel, also you're LARPing faggot

>wat is photorec
>wat is testdisk
>wat is scalpel
/thread

rekt

i had somebody tell unironically that if you physically damaged the disc inside the hard drive you could still get the data back.

Like a true bong.

I'll get it for you. Seriously.
