For society (the people) and humanity, obviously not, since their loved ones were murdered in cold blood. Often these people weren't even disabled but just opponents of the regime who were called insane to justify the murder of thousands (that was years before the Holocaust, Porajmos etc).
Also, many of the problems/illnesses some of the victims had weren't genetical but birth defects which couldn't be exterminated by killing the patients or castrating them.
Genetic defects can occur always (Mutations), they are not solely heritable, so you'd have to murder again in every coming generation.

Eugenics as in using PID and other methods to detect and eliminate obvious genetic diseases is a good idea, and should be done more often.
Using phenotypes to determine who should be sterilized/allowed to reproduce is obviously retarded.
Determining who should procreate based on genotypes is risky at best. The human genome is still far from fully understood and "cleansing" the human race from percieved negative genetic material could have disasterous effects, since it's impossible to see what sequences might be advantagous in the future (say a new plague or other changes in the environment). Genetic diversity is an advantage for a species.
