The White man, for all of modern Africa's faults.

Turks aren't white confirmed.

Yes, and?

If we were White then we would sellout our culture and women to inferior races.

...

OP here, what am I doing wrong exactly? You want me to link a vikipedia article on Thomas' assasination or what?

>turk
>own culture
you didn't even invent kebab

Not him but don't just post "Who was in the wrong here?", you're encouraging shitty 'meme debate', state your side, present your sourced arguments, give us a reason to debate the topic

test

>murder your friend because he dared to want actual independence from the french and take over the country for decades, destroying some of the best education and healthcare in west africa

Gee i wonder

At least Burkina Faso finally kicked him out

The Communist

They should have done a suicide pact together

>hurr he was commie so bad
American education at work lads.

>hurr we was photogenic and wore a beret, therefore he was good
commie "intelligence" at work.

How about you actually try to answer huh?

Answer some commie delusions? Sankara turned Burkina Faso into a totalitarian shithole. I bet you're the kind of brainlet who believes in the "Cuba has better healthcare than the USA" meme.

>national sovereignty is good
>unless the nation is bad, then being cucked by neoliberalism is good because my daddy said something about bootstraps and flags
>ZOMG dumb niggers africa is inferior XDDD

Inb4 someone accuses me of saying that everything wrong with africa is whiteys fault. Obviously Compaoré and other african leaders are incredibly complicit and obviously shitheads like Mugabe and Mengistu were opportunistic despots for the USSR just like Compaoré was for the French and the US. But Sankara and Nkrumah were genuinely invested in their people's independence and self reliance (or, whatever their personal motivation were nonetheless working for that goal) and for that reason were destroyed.

>totalitarian shithole

In what way please explain

The one on the right has seen some shit

"being cucked by neoliberalism" like South Korea? Having national sovereignty like North Korea?

You're just an unwashed commie who wears Che tshirts.

>In order to achieve this radical transformation of society, he increasingly exerted authoritarian control over the nation, eventually banning unions and a free press, which he believed could stand in the way of his plans.[5] To counter his opposition in towns and workplaces around the country, he also tried corrupt officials, "counter-revolutionaries" and "lazy workers" in Popular Revolutionary Tribunals.[5] Additionally, as an admirer of Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution, Sankara set up Cuban-style Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDRs).[1]
Truly a man of the people

>His domestic policies were focused on preventing famine with agrarian self-sufficiency and land reform, prioritising education with a nationwide literacy campaign and promoting public health by vaccinating 2,500,000 children against meningitis, yellow fever and measles.
>Other components of his national agenda included planting over 10,000,000 trees to halt the growing desertification of the Sahel, doubling wheat production by redistributing land from feudal landlords to peasants, suspending rural poll taxes and domestic rents and establishing an ambitious road and railway construction programme to "tie the nation together".
>On the localised level, Sankara also called on every village to build a medical dispensary, and had over 350 communities build schools with their own labour. Moreover, his commitment to women's rights led him to outlaw female genital mutilation, forced marriages and polygamy, while appointing women to high governmental positions and encouraging them to work outside the home and stay in school, even if pregnant.

How is this "turning a country into a shithole"?

Lots of empty promises. The result was an authoritarian commie shithole with "people's tribunals" executing people left and right.

Go kill yourself for believing commie propaganda you dumb brainlet.

I mean this was happening during the cold war, I don't think "Freedom in the World reports, published annually by Freedom House" is a reliable source of information.

Oh of course, but I'm sure the official government statistics were reliable, right :^)?

He was doing all of these things when he was in power, he vaccinated those kids very early on.
Or do you expect a landlocked african country to plant over 10,000,000 trees in under 5 years while doing all the other shit he's been doing?

Amnesty International called him out for it too dude

Snarky sarcasm isn't the height of discussion.

South Korea has the highest suicide rate in the world and terrible quality of life for the average person. Still a much better place to live than North Korea for sure

No, thats not great, but hardly a unique imposition historically. I dont want to excuse the terrible shit Sankara did and allowed to happen, but similar and worse shit did and does happen under every neocolonial government in Africa, and running a country counter to the wishes of established powers is extremely hard. For example, restricting "free press" in a country where a small minority has the wealth and networks to distribute press doesnt automatically mean tyranny, it can mean trying to stop the domination of public opinion by those justifying exploitation of the public. Tho it certainly isnt a blameless scenario because we know the government propaganda wing is not really going to be in service to the people but to their own agendas, etc, shit is complicated of course but that doesnt mean all resistance is useless. Justify it all you want with strawmen about dogmatic commies but you're the one throwing away nuance when you think any evidence of repression and conflict means there was no possible justification and then also dismiss evidence of repression and conflict done on behalf of the US & friends as either exaggerated or necessary.

Oh wow, he totally needed to create a totalitarian communist state in order to vaccinate children! I mean we all know that nobody in capitalist countries gets vaccinated!

Snarky sarcasm is the only way to deal with a braindead commie faggot like yourself.

> terrible quality of life for the average person
I love how elastic "quality of life" is to a commie. I wonder what mental hoops you must jump through to conclude that quality of life in South Korea is bad, while quality of life under Sankara was good.

Im not saying life under Sankara was good im saying there was potential in his movement for an improvement. Under Compaoré even tho it was stagnant and just as bad but you dont sperg about that because the IMF didnt tell you he was an evil freedom hater

I'm not saying his successors weren't just as bad, I'm saying you're an underage che guevara tshirt wearing commie brainlet for falling for the sankara meme.

Notice how they weren't being vaccinated under Ouédraogo. It certainly made it easier.
Also again with the ebin sarcasm.

>totalitarian
buzzword

>dont u know everything in the world is exactly the same

Youre assuming im a naive commie tankie faggot when all I ever said was it was better with Sankara than with Compaoré. Im not saying and never said it was a great place to live and that Sankara literally did nothing wrong. This is what nuance is. Cuba is shitty in a lot of ways but I still think it's much better for the average person now than it would be as a shithole casino plantation a la Republica Dominica, Jamiaca and Puerto Rico. Thinking that situations can be improved is not the same as thinking that Stalin was an angel and socialism is the stairway to heaven.

What, is the word too complicated for you? Too many syllables? Kill yourself.

>Cuba is shitty in a lot of ways but I still think it's much better for the average person now than it would be as a shithole casino plantation
And that's why my charge that you're a limp wristed brainlet bernout commie dicksucking faggot holds true. Because you're completely historically illiterate and actually believe communist propaganda that Cuba was such a shithole before it was "liberated" by communists.

Did you know that before the Cuban revolution Cuba was actually the third most prosperous country in the Americas, after the USA and Canada? Did you know that they had the third highest rate of car ownership in the Americas after the USA and Canada?

Did you know that in those "dark oppressive days", millions of Cubans did NOT hop on precariously built boats in an attempt to flee to the freedom of the USA?

t. lives in a western nation while defending totalitarian regimes

Just wondering, would you consider Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore to be in the same vein (reformer who did great things for his nation while also having certain rights violated, but doing what was necessary to help his people) despite being completely different ideologically?
I think I can understand where you're coming from even as someone who despises communism.

Absolutely, Singapore was in a position that liberalization of the economy would allow them to become a respectable regional power for trade and that has certainly increased the quality of life. Theres plenty wrong with Singapore of course but it's in a much better position than Indonesia which has remained basically a big resource mine for the world despite it's massive population.

If we talk about the UAE or Saudi Arabia tho I think thats very different because they arent viable states without international support from superpowers and the manipulation of oil prices etc.

Subsaharan African countries, especially landlocked ones like Burkina Faso, arent in a position where they can have nearly as much leverage as Singapore, so the best path for them is to stop being a poor French overseas territory, consolidate their resources and manpower and try to find a niche that allows them to develop. I think Ghana for example has gone in a great direction by liberalizing and allowing development of infrastructure without become completely indebted to China, and that's not even out of line with their socialist founder Nkrumah's political alignment in which he encouraged development and self sufficiency and acknowledged the limits of throwing resources at high flung socialist ideals in the short term.

>westener defending commies
disgusting

I suppose I can see it from that perspective, I'm still heavily against marxism but I can understand why they chose to adopt it for their government when it was pretty much the only alternative to foreign imperialism at the time.

Filthy Marxist

Im glad to find some middle ground. I am a communist but most communists really are dogmatic retards and I would always rather talk to smart people who disagree with me. Right wing independence movements are almost always preferable to no independence movement in my opinion.
