Gameplay entirely based on HoI 2, no modern bullshit.

There was a mod like this but it never went beyond beta stage, which is sad because it was awesome.

Maybe so, the game does jump around time at several medieval battles where calvaryfags got rekt

>Play as a mercenary and swear your allegiance to Holy League or Protestants. Hell, do both, switch sides, whatever. You can prevent mass destruction and loss of life, or lead it personally. Sort of a M&B meets the Witcher, with M&B freedom and ability to lead your own mercenary group and bleak Witcher atmosphere and story quality.

Ngl I would buy it user

And I'm thinking for the title, either Salvation 1648, or 1648: Saints and Heretics.

>summary of the plot
You are a Japanese samurai during the second Mongol invasion of Japan. You were called off to march hundreds of miles from your home to fight the aliens that you heard ravaged the south of the country seven years ago before being stopped by divine intervention. You and your levy join the coalition force and engage them on the beaches. Things quickly spin out of control.

Levels include manning three-meter high beach fortifications against waves of Yuan infantry, an epic sea battle against the Mongol fleet where you serve under Suenaga Takesaki, making stealthy night raids on to Mongol ships in your little rowboat to take them over, and participating in the chaotic and enormous orgy of slaughter at Taka Island.

This event is so fucking ideal for a video game that I'm frankly shocked only one game (Shogun Total War's first expansion) ever touched on it. All of the above is 100% historically accurate (if you believe the Yuanshi).

So Kamikaze one Union warship and die?

Thanks user. I really want it to capture the bleakness and horror a la Apocalypse Now, but done right and not cringey. Plus I think leading your own group of mercanaries and playing the Catholics and Protestants against each other is ripe with opportunity.

Could you imagine just walking through a village and only finding one or two women left, it's foggy and hard to see. It's played off with a horror vibe. As you get to the end of the village, you can hear some moaning until it grows louder and louder. Then you see a tree, and hanging from it are several men, disembowled and flayed. This is in the first five minutes of the game.

I would like to see a game made during King Phillip's War, or the French and Indian War, and you could choose to be either someone of European descent, or a Native American.

>Summary
In an alternate 1990s, many of the Soviets satellite states such as Yugoslavia have collapsed but the USSR limps on, with many of the Gorbachev-era reforms reversed after a failed uprising in Chechnya. NATO intervenes in Bosnia after the United States Secretary of Commerce Ron Brown is assassinated in Sarajevo by Serb nationalists who start a nationwide uprising. The Soviet Union threatens to intervene on the behalf of the still nominally Communist Yugoslavia, NATO assumes it to be a bluff and continues with the offensive. On July 28th, Soviet forces attack NATO bases in West Germany and the Third World War begins. However, the years of economic stagnation of have taken their toll on the once-mighty USSR and instead overrunning Western Europe, they are stopped by French forces on the Marne. Meanwhile in the Middle East, Saddam's Iraq, has successfully conquered Iran (let's assume alt-timeline Saddam isn't a complete retard) and now sets its eyes on the Arabian Peninsula. Taking advantage of the chaos in Europe, Iraq invades Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, conquering vast portions of it and leading OPEC to call upon the United States for assistance. In Asia, China, simply sits back and waits. With neither side having a decisive advantage, NATO and the USSR begin digging trenches and preparing for a long and bloody stalemate.

It's basically supposed to be a retelling of The Guns of August/WW1 in general, but set in the late 20th Century and with some role reversals. The United States plays the role of the United Kingdom, USSR the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Iraq the Ottoman Empire/Imperial Germany, and China the then-neutral United States.

>Time Period

>Game Genre

>Summary of the plot
You're a peasant whose village was burned down by rampaging bandits. Try to survive in the crossfire between the Nationalists and Communists while evading the ever present Japanese threat and bandits. It'll be similar to The Good, The Bad, and the Weird but a little darker.

Red Blood and Black Soil II will center around the Spanish Civil War.

Another one idea I wrote for /pol/ a while back. It's actually two games, but they tell one story.

>1st Game

You play as the typical American soldier in WW2. Talks shit, likes cigars, kicks Kraut ass, You get the deal, classic CoD stuff. At the end of the game, you liberate a Nazi concentration camp, meet an Anne Frank lookalike (or the actual Anne Frank if you want to be edgy) camp survivor and take her for your wife.

>2nd game

Set in the mid-1980s, you play as the son of the protagonist of the first game. You are a captain in the US Army's Berlin Brigade stationed in Germany when WW3 breaks out between the USSR and NATO. After first making a daring escape from Berlin, you join the fight to stop the Soviet advance across Europe, confronting many of the great ironies of the Cold War's shifting alliances along the way.

You're the very product of the last war and Nazism (being the child of an veteran who married a Jewish girl who was orphaned as a result of the Holocaust) retracing your father's geographical journey across Europe and like him, fighting a terrible and merciless enemy. But at the same time, you encounter many tragic ironies along the way. You're fighting the very people your father was allies in the last war. You're fighting alongside the sons of some of the very same people (West Germany's Bundeswehr) who killed your mother's family and destroyed the way of life her people had for centuries. You're half-Jewish yourself and raised to take pride in that fact by your mother, but you find yourself killing Russian Jewish soldiers on a daily basis. In an ending, similar to the first one, you lead a US Special Forces raid on the very concentration camp where your parents first met and are left to simply contemplate the irony of it all.

TL;DR the goal is to lure the audience in with the traditional narrative of WW2 (America/Russia=Good, Germany=Bad) and deconstruct that narrative by showing the contradictions of the Cold War that followed it.

Ann Frank detective noire set in post war Berlin. She's hunting down those who killed her family and took her baby. Meanwhile she falls for an ex Waffen-SS Homme Fatale

This would be cool as fuck

How many Red Army rape gangs will she be fighting?

BF1 released "In the Name of the Tsar", which has Russian Civil War battles in it, but that's it.

There is the Kaiserreich mod for HOI4 which has all the factions of the Russian Civil War (including von Ungern-Sternberg)

Trying to reach Sardinia by boat ? Hey this is not a fantasy board you know.

Remake and clean up Iron Storm.

Premise: The Year is 1968. World War One is still being fought.

The game is set in an alternate year 1964, in which World War I never ended. The Baron Nikolai Alexsandrovich von Ugenberg seized Mongolia in 1921 in an uprising following the Russian Revolution, and later invaded Russia itself to crush the Bolsheviks. His plan was to establish a Russo-Mongolian Empire stretching from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic. With the help of the United States, the Allied nations of Europe were reformed as the United States of Western Europe, or the Alliance, in 1933 to counter Ugenberg's plan.

Instead of the Great War ending in 1918, it was continued for almost half a century, with the battlelines drawn down Europe's center in 1929 shifting little for either side for the next several decades. As the USWE could no longer independently contribute to the war, the Alliance army was introduced into the American stock market, allowing private investors to speculate on the lives of the soldiers who carried on the war. The outcome of the war now depended almost entirely on the economy of the Alliance's member nations.

>Kaiserreich mod for HOI4

Always wished for a game set during the thirty years war. Sad thing is that it is relatively unknown and I'm not sure if casual players could relate

>WW2
>FPS
>Story driven game where you play on the western front.

First few missions is the Battle of France where you play as both a British infantryman gradually being pushed back to Dunkirk, and a German soldier participating in the offensive. End on the capture of Paris.

Proper game set D-Day and forward. Play the same British and German soldiers, but this time 4 years later. Being story driven, the German soldier will have to make difficult decisions regarding civillians, interactions with the SS, morally questionable orders from above and so on.

The British campaign focuses on the (sometimes difficult) relationship between allied troops, their treatment of German POW's, and the discovery of the Extermination Camps.

Multiple endings. Depending on campaign choices, German soldier might die, survive, get sent to the eastern front (fate unknown), or get put on trial for war crimes.
British soldier endings might be more difficult to make interesting.

I'd dig that. WWII and the Cold War have a lot of differences.
During WWII, the commies were friends despite raping, torturing and assassinating a lot, and then during Cold War, the Americans become good guys despite doing a lot of creepy shit as well.

Summary:
Battlefield: Britain. Choose to fight as either Viking, Saxon, or Norman. Invade with Hardrada or William, or defend with Harold. You have to beat both opponents to win. The second battle is fought as part of a smaller force of hardened veterans (survivors of the first battle), equipped with superior weapons and armour looted from the first battle.

I would really like a total war game for the Byzantine Sassanid War and the rise of Islam.
You'd have two major campaigns, the war between the Byzantines and Sassanids and the Islamic Invasions. You would be able to play as either the Byzantines, Sassanids or Muslims. In the first campaign you could unite the Arabian peninsula as the Arabs, you could defend against the Persians and eventually try and push them back as the Byzantines, or you could play as the Sassanids and try and score a favorable peace treaty with the Byzantines. War exhaustion and devestation would be fleshed out core mechanics of the game. After the first campaign you can start the second in either an Historical setting, or an alternate setting based on the result of the first campaign. Each faction would have a wildly different playstyle. Byzantines would have the largest economy and population, but be in a rather poor state initially, aside from the threat from the Sassanids and in the second campaign the arabs, they would also face many threaths to their western holding like Spain an Italy. The Sassanids would be a have a large economy and population as well, and be in a better position initially but suffer more from a long war then the Byzantines. They would also fall into politcal chaos and constant rebellion after the death of Khosrow. The Arabs have a small population and economy but a relatively large (compared to their economy, not compared to Romans or Persians), proffesional and very zealous army, which is cheap to maintain. The game would be much more realistic in terms of Morale, and players would have to pay more attention to keeping their army from routing after minor casualties when playing as the Byzantines or Sassanids, only the muslims would have god tier morale.

It's only a short story, the game is much more detailed. The writer of the original story helped writing the plot and even provided the voice for the evil computer.

Literally doing this right now. I gave up trying to find a satisfactory game, so now I'm doing it myself.

>Time Period
It depicts the early adulthood of Theseus, so a generation or so before the Iliad. My sources are all classical texts and pottery pictures, though, so it really doesn't resemble our modern understanding of Mycenaean Greece.

>Game Genre
RPG. Heavily based on choice-and-consequence (think age of decadence) but combat is real-time (think dink smallwood) because turn based is overly complicated for my game.

>Summary of the Plot
It is a faithful derivative of several ancient texts, primarily Plutarch's Life of Theseus, Apollodorus' Bibliotheca, and Pausanias' Description of Greece. I do make use of earlier texts, such as Bacchylides Ode 17, but generally the above three are the most voluminous and helpful.

It begins with Theseus' returning from Delphi after undergoing an adulthood ceremony, and will end with him arriving in Athens and dealing with the Pallantidai.

Right now, Troezen is totally completed. I intend to release a free, feature-complete demo at the end of the month, and then finish up the remaining locations (Epidauros, several locations around the Isthmus area, then Athens).

I released an early version a few months ago and got some positive feedback. Since then, I totally replaced the combat system and made a lot of corrections/improvements based on input.

The final goal is to create a title that is faithful to the classical texts and does the memory of Theseus justice.

>summary of the plot
It's a nation builder. You start of with a small village and a pantheon of gods + attributes and beliefs for each god. Each belief offers a bonus, so for example, picking the Fire God will yield benefits towards fire (better Line of sight through torches, archers have fire arrows, fire based mythical units).

The more you develop your pantheon, the more diluted your civilization becomes. So if you go pure monotheistic with your fire god, you unlock the absolute best abilities and bonuses for that god. If you have a dual pantheon, say a fire god and water god, you have the flexibility of both skills but you can never master either.

'Sequel' to Vampire: the Masquerade set in the nWoD, so its an RPG.
The setting is Constantinople between the years 531-542, i.e. from the Nika riots to the plague years.
Modeling the city would be a priority.
Like a lot of games, it would be broken down into three main acts.

>summary of the plot

Clear your name of a Masquerade breach, investigate why you were framed and by who, uncover a pagan conspiracy within the ruling authorities to re-consolidate the inner circle of the Camarilla (the Invictus) in Constantinople.
Autistic, I know, but personally the idea of reproducing 6th century Constantinople and getting a sequel to VtM is too tempting to say anything else.

Alternatively, the same general idea but set in revolutionary Russia, portraying a contest between the aristocratic elders and the revolutionary neonates (led by pretentious aristocratic elders, but shhhhhh!).

Indeed. Faggots who want story-heavy games shouls KYS desu.

>British soldier endings might be more difficult to make interesting.

Good end: retirement to the countryside, suffers from nightmares for the rest of his life, dies peacefully in the seventies.
Neutral end: assassinated by a German communist during the post-war occupation (not uncommon).
Bad end: chopping off arms, legs and heads in Malaysia, or some equivalent post-colonial dirty war. Has a long and decorated military career. Suicide in the late 60s.
