People take religion too serious

People take religion too serious.

people are stupid.

Religions start with some lunatic or a death cult getting too popular/powerful, but the questions they raise can be interesting to discuss

Of all groups, what exactly do Christians think is going to happen to them in a country where it's still practically an unwritten requirement to be Christian to run for higher office?

Liberal secularists hold a lot of power in the media and large corporations and they are hostile to their values.

>Liberal secularists hold a lot of power in the media and large corporations
Yes but this is still a hilariously overwhelmingly christian country. There's a reason Europeans see this place as the Christian version of Saudi Arabia.

Of all groups, what exactly do atheists think is going to happen to them in a country where it's still practically an unwritten requirement to be atheist to work in media, academia, or education?

The whole reason those groups bitch about congress is because they know they're powerless to stop them if new laws are passed.

Yep. Atheists can't serve on jury or in official office IIRC, and atheist kids in schools get death threats all the time, but we're surely degenerating into Sodom because there are still atheists and Conservapedia said that atheists are a step away from being mass murdering zoophiles and pedophiles.

Europeans are faggots.
t. European

>or in official office IIRC
People in this country even if only unconciously seem to still overwhelmingly believe that if you aren't religious then you don't have a strong enough moral framework for the responsibility of office. Remember this is a county that's 80% Christian.

>have to swear on a bible in court
>every major political speech thanks god

People aren't religious enough. What is the fruit of 'enlightened rationalism' but communism, consumerism, war, decadence & nihilism?

The upper and middle classes, the people who hold actual power in America, hate the working and underclasses with a passion. A good deal of that hatred is bound up in anti-Christian sentiment, a holdover from the upper class' roots in Jewish and Enlightenment banking dynasties. Most of the reason why you hate Christians comes down to the fact that you think Christianity is for stupid, ill-bred, uneducated, rural, hick, redneck, white trash morons, not to mention spics and niggers. You're not part of the upper or middle classes yourself, of course, but you still ape their prejudices in a kind of cargo cult mentality, with the hopes of being fed a few scraps from their table ("Good job, user, you got your cultural studies degree! Here's a white collar job!") . You pretend Christians are a mass of filthy unwashed plebs as you try to distance yourself from their blue collars. And then you'll turn around and claim that they're powerful oppressors from on high simply because they outnumber the godless nomenklatura that in reality sneers down at them from their lofty heights. Your attempt to curry favour with your betters by casting humble, ordinary people as villains is as disgusting as it is transparent. This shit is why you lost the election.

A large part of the elite is atheist and openly hostile to Christians and if they could they would isolate those with those values. See what happened to Brendan Eich.

You can't say atheists are powerless when you have large corporations and the media on your side.

Even atheists think religious people are more trustworthy. Because they are.

Modern Christianity is a joke. If anything they don't take it serious enough. If they did we would all see the trees for the forest right quick.

The whole reason those groups hate Christians is because it's their job to suppress Christianity.

>taking religion too seriously
That's not possible.

>This shit is why you lost the election.
I don't vote so I had no stake in that.

>too serious
I thought the whole point of religion was to take whoever is telling you about it seriously.
