How would you organize our history of the 21st century thus far? What do we need to record? What/ who matters? Social, philosophical, political, etc. etc. Especially from the current decade (albeit still only nearly concluded)?

2001-2008: 9/11, war, and panic.

2009-2016: The Hopeful Years.

2016-???: America loses its shit and takes the world down with it.

america dominates history eh?

Maybe for the past decade or so.

Reminder that the rest of the world is weak, violent, chaotic, confused and ephemeral.

China is strong. It is moderate, stable, certain and enduring.

Chinese civilizations existed long before all other civilizations and they will continue long after the rest have crumbled to dust.

Europe, the Americas, Africa and the Middle East - they are but footnotes, stray strands in the great tapestry of monolithic China. When most of Europe still played with mud and threw their own shit at each other China was making great wonders. When the Americas finally made into civilization they found China there; calmly sipping tea. Even Muhammad never dared to attack China.

China is eternal and eternal is China.

This. It's gonna be hilarious in a thousand years when future historians try to figure out why we elected an incompetent manchild to the presidency

>2009-2016: The Hopeful Years.
Economic downturn and increasing disillusion

>21st century
>history

lotta baloney that

current mainland china is a schizophrenic mess of foreign ideas and despotism

its culture was organized along the lines of a failed foreign idea

2000-2008 , a golden age of civilization
2009-now , utter darkness

>2009 the hopeful years

Holy shit no. 2008 to some ambiguously defined date is the recession and general lethargy. Outside of the BRICs things were fucking awful from 2008 onwards. And of late the BRICs are on the downturn.

You have 2011-2017+ being the age of discord and rebellion against the status quo. Arab Spring, South Korean fallen government, rise of populist nationalists and erosion of the EU, Ukraine, Spain.

2015 onward heralds the age of the European jihadist. What was episodic in the past is now ubiquitous and commonplace.

2011-2016

>Moderate, stable

Kinda related but how do yous feel 2018-2025 will go

In hindsight, christianity caused less damage to China than it did in Europe and the Americas.
Consider the death tolls there, with all the religious conflict, inquisition, reformation, forced conversions, etc.

More Islamic attacks, more police state, more immigration. The de facto conversion of Europe to Islam.

Ultimately you can surrender, or you can fight. Our choice has been surrender and I see no change in that on the horizon. As the attacks get worse and worse and even more frequent, you will start hearing calls in Europe for more Islam. It won't be framed like that. They will come up with "solutions" to terrorism, which invariably will involve giving Islam more control over the youth and more political representation.

Chinese eclipses American power and the official beginning of the multipolar world,
Or alternatively
Trump fucks everything up and global cyclical downturn leading to the dark ages

1. The teetering corpse of the liberalist-totalist dichotomy.
2. The continued rise of the high-publicity, high-violence attack worldwide as a form of protest in the place of traditional political methods.
3. The accelerating trend of both profits and wages approaching zero.

>The de facto conversion of Europe to Islam.
Opinion discarded

We don't need to worry. Our computers can record daily activities.

Why?

>please do not start threads about events taking place less than 25 years ago

How would you organized span of history under 20 years in length? It's a transition period.

Though we usually categorize them by the heartbeat of war and peace. So, I suppose 2001-3999 will be "The War on Terror".

What in the everloving fuck is with all the pro-China posts that have started in the last few years?

Veeky Forums is finally reaching enlightenment.

People hedging their bets.

Dumb Chinks posting from the Anglosphere.

I feel optimistic for the 2020s. As technology improves and new social media comes out people will adjust and regain common sense.

That bot has posted in every other thread on the board...

...Folks forget China's prosperity is entirely reliant on the West's, and particularly on the USA staying afloat, with better than half their industry manufacturing crap for US companies.

>taipimg rebellion

Yes, thats the post I was replying to.
Do you not have any RAM in your little machine, to be able to hold 2 posts of information at a time?

1991-2011 was the high of post-Cold War security and prosperity slowly wearing off.

2011 onward has been various types of reactions to worsening economic conditions, as well as Neoliberal damage control

tumult in the americas had nothing to do with Christianity you snake

>kiss the bible or i cut off your head
>*chop*
>next, please!

>your mother's vagina
>splurt
>next please!

>ignoring all the murder done in the name of christendom and "white man's burden" in the americas

Yeah, insults are not arguments.

your shit post was less of an argument than my dismissive counter

Because you're fucking retarded. I haven't once seen or heard Muslims converting non-believers to their faith; they keep to themselves. How exactly do you propose that their faith is going to become "the de facto (state religion) of Europe"? Show us some proof that the birth rates don't dwindle as they become more integrated to their new countries.

Fuck off.

Europeans aren't converting to Islam and the Muslim-Christian birthrate gap is greatly exaggerated

Charlie do it A G A I N

They're going to have a harder time explaining cuckold like you voting for a nigger and then shilling for a corrupt woman only to end up in tears because millions of illegals aren't allowed to enter the country anymore.

>He doesn't like Trump
>Without a doubt this must mean that he voted for Obama and Hillary Clinton.
The police need your skills user.

Proper fascist rule in America after Trump. Intellectual, well-spoken dictator modelled on someone like Oswald Mosley. Short lived ideological skirmishes across the country leave hundreds dead. Federal government greatly reformed and neutered, greater legislative power given to states. Function equivalent to Greek polis.
Screencap this
sorry charlie, but that sort of government has no appeal to Americans

In a thousand years nobody is going to know or even care about what the United States even was

doubt

even the dutch republic gets mentioned
