Why are Europe and Asia considered two separate continents

Why are Europe and Asia considered two separate continents

basically because europeans are full of themselves

Divided by a major mountain range, resulting in two distinct regions.

Because once europe was just greece and Asia was just Asia minor divided by sea, the hellespont, so 2 continents

do you also consider india a distinct continent from asia

Reported for lack of effort.

If we are doing the natural barriers and distinct culture memes then North Africa and Anatolia/Levant should be part of the same continent as Europe.

Mostly because if you treated them as being the same continent, it would be impossible to fit the resulting continent on a conventionally proportioned map.

it's true. cry more.

No, it's a sub continent.

just like europe

In a sane world it would be, for the same reason as Europe. It's got its own tectonic plate even.

What would you even call that?
Eurafricasia?

White indigenous population.

Take the Himalayas away and there's not much of India left to make a continent. There's plenty of Europe West of the Urals. Europe is a small continent, but it's a continent.

There are lots of mountain ranges. Why aren't all of them considered to divide the landmass into two continents

>Take the Himalayas away and there's not much of India left to make a continent
wat

It's somewhat subjective/arbitrary. I'm just stating what appears to be the reasoning I can glean from a physical map. How many continents would you divide the world into user?

Wuffs

it is one of the regions that gets sunk by a leviathan if it sinks a continent

No one knows anything here. This board is pretty shit, just history themed /pol/.

1. Europe, Asia, and Africa are attached.
2. Ideally Middle East should be recognized as a continent.

no shit
