I hope to be wrong but I simply cannot see mass adoption anytime soon. Neither in technology savvy Asia, nor in infrastracture-lacking Africa.
Cryptos have the potential to change how society thinks and operates but it is a radical change. Truly shift towards technological society of 21 century. But there will be many setbacks, attempts to slow down the progress (high volatility, intra-conflicts, regulatory traps etc.).

i am austrian and we have tons of afghan "refugees" here which all have a smartphone and which are always in connection with their families in iran and afghanistan.
and they are also looking for a way to send the wellfare we give them to their families home. right now they use western union, which apparently has high fees and then their families in afghanistan and iran have to store the money in shitty fiat or goats or whatever. so transferring money via krypto would be ideal for them. it will definitely become a thing among them.

Having a smartphone is cheap and easy, having a tower connected to a fiber back-bone takes a lot of investment I'm not sure much of Africa will see.
As for "refugees" it isn't the poor that can afford to travel to another continent despite what the media say.
