It's full of Indians.

Socialism? Hinduism? Lack of British guidance?

Massive population growth.

Socialism

Seriously, how the fuck does India have higher open defecation rates than fucking sub-Saharan Africa?

Here's a video on the topic by Peter Zeihan
youtube.com/watch?v=QFUNmeCW1Bc

He explains a bit about India's situation. It's pretty short and the part with India is even shorter.

Indians ran it themselves

China went from 400 million to 1.4 billion

But China had somethig worse than that

>Be India
>Be capitalist
>2000 GDP per capita

>Be China
>Be socialist
>8500 GDP per capita

s-socialism B-BTFO!! r-right guys?

Hmmmm but wasn't the Raj a shithole with China-tier starvation?

Both are capitalist

The problem is that India was capitalist for far longer and didn't have japanese rape invasions + civil war + Maoism

Sort of, the areas that were most heavily colonized are the richest today.

British control over India was not centralized, it was mostly maintained by pitting Indians princes against each other, bribes, trade, etc.

But isn't that just because they started out richer and with more english language to outsource for a poopie?

Could be, but even so the legacy of colonialism is what makes them wealthier.

The Tyranny of Cousins.

>Kerala, now one of the richest Indian state, had semi independent rulers then and has democratically elected commie party ruling them for decades
Really strikes your neurons

low iq

China is capitalist

>Look it up
>Didn't get rich until the 90s when the commies were booted out
really activates the almonds

eternal anglo

I'm guessing that being another made up artificial country produced by the Eternal Anglo Pictures Inc. with tons of tensions, disparity and stuff has to do with this

Things have gotten better by every measurable metric since 1950. The state India was in it 1950 it's one of the biggest surprises that it survived at all. No big power expected it to. Everyone was betting on Pakistan being the stable state in that region.

This.

People were betting on PAKISTAN to be the stable power in South Asia?

Lynn's IQ numbers are garbage.

>>Legacy of colonialism is what makes them wealthier

India grew super quickly and urbanized faster than it could properly develop sanitary infrastructure. The government now is working pretty hard to solve this problem, through massive PSA campaigns and sewers being built everywhere.

What I wonder though, is why this is less of a problem in countries even less developed than India

>>Areas most heavily colonized richest
West Bengal was directly administered by the British from roughly 1750 on.
It's a complete shithole.

Kerala was a semi-autonomous Princely state.
Most successful all-round state in India.

Really makes you think...

>Sort of, the areas that were most heavily colonized are the richest today.
It's actually the states that were administered the most (Bihar, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh etc ec) that are the biggest shitholes in india.

Kerala always had better living standards.

T. ASSHURT POO

I think it's obvious to everyone by now that South Indians are objectively superior to their northern brethren.

Yeah, Pakistan was more developed on average at the time of the partition because it lacked the Papua New Guinea-tier tribal areas that exist throughout eastern India and the same degree of ethnic or religious difference.

The US in fact supported Pakistan over India basically until the Clinton and Bush years, because Pakistan was always closer to our ally Britain the Pakistan was, because India's size made them more able to challenge American dominance in Asia, and because the Indian intelligentsia has had a deep relationship with Russia dating back as far as the Romanov era.

The Ghurids were pretty good tbf. They invaded at a time when nearly every regional power collapsed and there was a just small kingdoms everywhere.
By the time another regional power had developed they consolidated enough power to possibly be one of the strongest empires in the world.

>because it lacked the Papua New Guinea-tier tribal areas that exist throughout eastern India
It's a real shame in comparison to its history.

Absolute bullshit. The most developed part of India is the southern tip thanks to decades of uninterrupted rule by authentically motivated local politicians who wants to help the people of Kerala, rather than themselves.

A century ago this area was a tribal shithole, more similar to the Philippines than the rest of India in the amount of isolated villages, starving children, and subsistence agriculture. India had less stake in Kerala than almost anywhere less.

East Asians are a superior peoples. Make not mistake about that.

Eternal Anglo

Congress and its socialist policies and mixed economy nonsense that dug india in deeper into the poverty hole, the Congress party never alleviated it because more poor = votes for congress and their socialist policies. It wasnt until the administration of Narasimha Rao that india finally opened its markets in 1991, so essentially india had no real chance to develop for around 40 years after the independence due to socialist policies of the dirty congress SJW, they came to power basically sucking colonial administration dick and then made a deal with England to keep india a shithole.

>India was capitalist for far longer
nope. Socialist, cnetralized nightmare bureaucracy of india made sure india would barely make it into the 21st century.

I am from kerala, it has a lot also to do with culture, a lot of the land owners and large hereditary families were fairly wealthy and when they split up after the reallocation of land by government and compensations a new middle class appeared between 1960-1980, this middle class lead to people being able to afford journey overseas to earn and most people started migrating to the gulf countries, from there they earned and sent remittance back home that enabled the families to invest back into the state and start businesses, this lead to increase in the middle class who demanded better infrastructure and education, this lead to certain actions by the ruling parties to ensure education for even the poorest and improvements in infrastructure though the latter has been woefully slow.
