That's a simplistic world view of communism that takes only one parameter into account.
Reality is more complex than just "communism = mass everything bad". The reason USSR, China and Cambodia having had deadly purges is not just a direct effect of communism, just as dictatorship (despite the "dictatorship of proletariat") isn't a part of the ideology.
The USSR would have been much better off if its leaders hadn't been paranoid psychopaths and most European countries directly plotting it's demise.
It doesn't mean communism is good though. Most if not every communist country has been a shithole and whether or not the idea of having no property is good is up to you. Supporting the ideologies of Stalin, Mao or other dreadful dictators is usually pretty stupid .

That's a very irrational argument and you know it. It didn't fuck up the whole world in 1917. The reasons why Europe tried to overthrow the Soviet union in the first years wasn't because of its ideology, but because the escaped nobility would owe them a favour if they did.
