What a fucking meme picture. In reality the germs lost 5.3 million soldiers in ww2 while the soviets lost around 8.7

Can I get a source for 5.3 million? The largest death toll I could find was 4.4 million.

>Tote der deutschen Wehrmacht im 2. Weltkrieg*

Veeky Forums wont let me send you the link of my source unfortunately. But it's name is "Deutsche militärische Verluste im Zweiten Weltkrieg" by Rüdiger Overmans. You can download a pdf online.
The study was done in 2000, so it is one of the more recent estimates.
But i guess we will never know exactly how many people died.

>have a bad day
>remember Dresden
>feel happy again

Overmans is unreliable. He contradicts his numbers in different places, and they don't match up with existing Soviet or German records.

The german records only counted confirmed dead. Overmans' estimates are based on the fact many of those reported MIA were actually dead and he also includes those that died in imprisonment.
Again, the numbers vary depending on how you count and we will never know for sure.

Germany lost 5 million, not 3 million
