To expand on this: Nazis were Western Europeans who killed many Western Europeans (also, of course, many non-Western Europeans). I think that Muslims and Commies, on the other hand, are generally seen as "savages killing savages out in the boondocks somewhere". It's the same phenomenon as when a school shooting in the US that kills 10 people gets more attention in the Western media than a suicide bombing in Iraq that kills 200 people.
Westerners sort of expect horrific behavior from the "savages" out in places like Russia, China, and the Middle East. On the other hand, the Nazis are seen as horrific because it was a top-tier first-world society that chimped out and turned society into horrific barbarity.

It's true, relative to how many the Nazis killed. The Nazis killed hundreds of thousands of Western Europeans. Commies and Muslims put together have probably killed a total of only several tens of thousands, and in multiple separate events rather than one big conflict. I guess you could include wars with Muslims from hundreds of years ago that would put Muslims over the top, but that's too long ago to seriously affect modern thinking. I'm referring to the last 100 years or so, and in that time frame the Nazis killed a lot more Western Europeans than the other two groups.
