there's nothing wrong with just holding bitcoin. trading alts should be with the goal of increasing your BTC stack along with some safe holds like ETH and XMR.

download the Electrum wallet and send some BTC there and don't touch it - treat it as a long-term high yield savings account. you won't be tempted to gamble on shitcoins with it. you'll thank yourself later when BTC is 20k.

Because fuck coinbase. Coins on an exchange are nothing more than IOUs, they aren't really your coins. Also print out a paper wallet. Keep a portion of trading, but like the other user says stash away a chunk of bitcoin and don't touch it.

Bought ETH as it was booming, sold it at around $225 to go all in to ARK.

Started with around $1.8k in ETH, Then I put $4.8k (3k growth from ETH) into ARK because I read their whitepaper and checked the roadmap and saw it really is something that will be used in the future. All in and saw it rise to $8k, then settle down to $3.5k, then rise again all the way to $17k, now settling down again at $12k. In ARK I trust.
